Again, the team was only two games away from the NBA Finals, and were able to add more talent to the same core this summer. They are much closer than many people give them credit for.
That's still where they are. A good team that's likely a 2nd round exit and with luck and injuries, might make an ECF and win two games at most there
I.E - not a real contender but still a very good and competitive team

About the Tatum injury, at the time he got injured Game 4 was already decided and the Knicks were comfortably on their way to a 3-1 series lead. Don't see where you get your idea that the Celtics would comfortably beat the Knicks without the injury??

Re: Knicks offense under Mike Brown so far
Maybe we should also consider that:
- The Knicks went 3-2 in their first 5 games in 24-25.
- The Knicks were 5-5 after their first 10 games in 24-25.
- The Knicks had a 123 point and a 128 point game in those 5 games in 24-25.
So yeah the scoring average was higher because of 2 high scoring games of the first 5, shocker. Personally I care more about winning games. Atm we are 2-2 after 4 games, last season we were 2-2 after 4 games.
I will start caring about the team record when we are 20 games in the season. Also the issue with Thibs was never about the offense, we have 2 players that are capable to average around 25 and 2 more that can get close to 20 and we were ranked 5th in Off. Raring so I don´t even what point this post is trying to make.

Still it was a 7 point Knicks lead with only 3 minutes to play, a great position to be in. AI tells me that historically the average win probability in such situation (7-point game with 3min to go) is roughly around 90-95%, meaning that the Knicks were huge favorites to win the game, injury or not.

Clarkson was extremely inefficient the past 3 or so seasons for the Jazz. I openly said on trade forums I would get rid of him and expect nothing back. If he gets aplenty of rest between games he might have a few games where he gets hot and can’t miss. But those games are fewer and rather between with each season.
Sucks. Cause he is a dope person. But his legs have seemed tired for years now.

We're 4 games in. Aaron Gordon is averaging 30 points per game.

Very very early, and like someone said, we can't judge...yet. With that said though, I still believe that Brown won't push the needle for the Knicks.

1) Players are missing a lot of clean 3p shots. It should be in some extension due to the lack of rhythm.
2) We are missing Mitch, who started pre-season games, due to an undisclosed injury.
3) We missed Deuce, our best shooter, for the last 2 games due to personal reasons.
4) KAT is playing through a quad injury, and his offensive performance is poor. He is missing a lot of bunnies. Shooting 35% from the field. (shot 52% last season).
5) Hart is playing through a broken finger, and he is shooting terribly when he is not too afraid to shoot.
6) The newcomers, Yabu and Clarkson, still look kind of lost. And Yabu is injured now.
7) Kolek and Huk are sophomore second-rounders who are playing more minutes this season. Thibs avoided using them because they are far from ready. Brown is facing the growing pains.
All great points but let me also add, the 4 teams they have faced so far are currently ranked relatively high in DRTG.
Cavs at 12th
Boston at 7th
Heat 3rd
Bucks 8th.

Re: Knicks offense under Mike Brown so far
Seems like the knicks really should have waited more for a real star, they blow their load on Kat and Bridges, who are good players, but not enough to put they on the next level. OG is a good player too, but he´s overpaid in my opinion...

Given the personnel there’s really no excuse for the Knicks not to have the best offense in the league or at least very close to the best

Re: Knicks offense under Mike Brown so far
They were a team that overachieved last year... What did everyone expect when they downgraded from Thibs to Brown?
It's not like they had a team anyone would feel comfortable going to war with. They're not built like that.

He's really never moved the needle for any organization he's coached. Don't see NYK fans ever embracing him as HC
