Well I was thinking when was the last time We absolutely choked and have the referees totally lobside the game, while being on the road, and yet showed enough grit to win the game anyway.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I think we NEED to play Hugo and Minott every night, IDC. Maybe we beat them game one because JB and X shut Embiid down. Just imagine a little bit of that Hugo energy.

I think we should’ve given X a couple more minutes too. Minott missed the free throws, but he almost won the game with that rebound. We probably beat nyk if we had him or somebody like him last season, that’s why I kept talking about Brizzy the whole season. People think you have to score and do flashy things and that’s it, sometimes you need a hustler who’s gonna go out there and give their all even if they never touch the ball.

I love Simons and I think he's a great player, but it's just not a good fit because the Cs would be too small if they have PP, White, and Simons.

Garza is 100% a keeper.

Minott missed the all-important FTs and a couple of open shots late in the game but that is how you instill confidence on your young players. Good job by Joe there. His play-calling and timeout management, not so much.

And for those questioning Tillman being on the floor, he was our best defender against Embiid. Had Bona been in the floor late, I imagine Queta would've gotten the call. Maybe there was no opportunity to go offense-defense on subs since both Minott and Tillman were shooting wide open bricks lol.

I know this should go in the around the NBA thread, but this is all I’ll say about it, why doesn’t Memphis have a lot more high-level talent? They are always bad except for maybe a couple seasons here and there.

What???

Simons is good, if we can cut down his salary going forward.

Totally, these guys make all the winning plays Smart used to make with the added benefit that at the same time they don't also think they are JT and JB

Man, I don’t even know for VC. Everyone played great at times and had some super rough moments as well. I’ll go Joe for making it all work for a W somehow.

Jaylen for VC. He continues a really efficient year shooting the ball.

JB smokes the cigar tonight with a handful of runner ups. Hugo, Simons, Garza were all solid tonight! Minott looked like he was going to crap his pants before those freethrows and some real questionable play at the end but this teams learning and growing on the fly! Sorry to the tank mafia, it isn’t happening! This teams reloading not rebuilding

Brown gets the game ball even though he tried to choke the game away all by himself.

Yeah, Simons is very good, but the Cs will just be too small going forward when Tatum returns.

I don't mind keeping Simons the whole season as we all know I really defended Simons the whole summer.
But Simons will just be sitting in crunch time when Tatum returns.

The choice will be between Simons and PP and it's going to be PP.

Two things will happen if Brad can trade Simons for a player with a lower salary.

1. Cs will be able to reset the repeater.

2. Brad can get a player with a lower salary that can be a rotation guy off the bench.

Why can’t we have a White/Simons/Jaylen/Tatum/Queta
starting lineup or sub Pritch with Simons and have Simons come off the bench for instant offense?

Relax it's still early. 1 injury to JB and this team falls harder than Vanilla Ice's rap career.

That's the problem, Joe will not go with Simons over PP.

Joe's going to go with PP in crunch time and it's valid because PP's better than Simons defensively.

It's like the Smart, DWhite, and Brogdon logjam again.

When JT returns, it will be C, JT, JB, White, and PP in crunch time.

I'm a Simons fan and have defended him all summer.
But I think it will be between PP and Simons.

Trading Simons for a player with a lower salary will reset the Cs repeater tax situation and the player Brad will get for Simons should be a contributor off the bench.

Minott missed the free throws but he got the key rebound that won the game. And Brown missed one a few seconds earlier that would have make it a two possession game.

I think Minott should have bricked the second one intentionally.

Simons is 6'3". White is good, if he has one of Pritchard/Simons next to him.
Pritchard needs to come off the Bench. Fill-in as a Starter, if someone is OUT.

This looks good.:
