Yeah that was beyond stupid, you cant make that last out with Springer on deck you just cant, he wasnt scoring there, and Springer with 2 on and 1 out is a 10/10 situation anyways. Insane risk for such little reward.

Not sure what exactly Barger was thinking by taking those extra 10 feet on the base path closer to third base— he wasn’t going toscore either way if the ball drops. No need to be so aggressive.

Boogie did accurately point out how well Kiki positioned himself for that ball and that may have thrown Berger off,but it’s not really an excuse

Do not get the decision to throw Mookie a fastball with the bases loaded, get beat with your best pitch and that isn’t it

Just a horrific blunder. He seems unfazed by it at least, we need his bat tomorrow to come through

Yeah he came back from the dropped pop up against the Yankees which was probably just as bad and went 3-3 the next day. Hopefully he has the same attitude, I think this offense is due for a big home game.

I think he tripled up on it? His splitter was fooling everyone and mookie had no chance on anything offspeed. He wouldve chased 100%.

Honestly wouldve respected Bargers choice more if he just was almost at 3rd lmao the overhead shot makes it look so bad

I guess they probably thought a high fastball would be a safer pitch with bases loaded where you don't want stuff in the dirt and if the splitter misses, then you're closer to the possibility of walking in a run. Mookie was chasing and they thought he would swing through it or pop it up. High fastball isn't a bad pitch to throw there against a struggling hitter, but Gausman just missed and it ended up lower than they wanted.

They didn’t hit his splitter the entire game, gotta go to it with the game on the line. It’s the same reason he struck out Judge with the bases loaded in the ALDS, he wasn’t gonna get beat with his fastball.

I noticed that gausman got rocked on fastballs up in the zone at 96 mph. When he threw his splitters and off speed stuff at the bottom of the strike zone and away was when he had success against their batters.

Everyone’s mad about the fastball call but he has to throw that to set up the aplitter. The guy has 2 pitches he can’t throw splitters all game… the one will smith hit was a good splitter low and out of the zone. Just baseball.

He literally threw two fastballs the two pitches before that, so how is that setting a splitter up

He simply thought he could beat him with it due to the 2 previous swings he was late on and he was wrong, Mookie was ready

It was very hard to see the Dodgers losing 3 straight games. They’re too good for that to happen.

It’s also very hard to see the Jays losing consecutive games at home, including 3 out of 4. We’re too good of a home team for that to happen.

Problem is the pitching matchup. Max has been serviceable but he's way too homer happy and could have us in a hole before we can even react or pull him. And Dodgers all hands on deck means we see Glasnow, Snell and Ohtani and probably even Yamamoto if they get desperate. We have our pen and likely Bieber and Yesavage but the Dodgers easily have the pitching edge in the matchup.

Sigh I got a real bad feeling about this game. Would be such a Toronto thing to do to have the biggest heartbreak after a 3-2 series lead.

I really thought we were coming back in the 9th inning man. Just terrible luck. Barger comes within a few feet of a homer to tie it. Gimenez has a xBA of .700 on that looper. The double play to end the game with Springer on deck.

I guess I'll stop dooming and sleep now. But it's been a depressing last couple of hours

I feel like there's no way we recover from a loss like last night even though I also think we were clearly the better team and we probably are going to get multiple innings against their trash pen.

Someone please talk me off the bridge because I can't ever remember feeling this "sports" bad.
