Come on “Chair Company.” Do something. Im rooting for you.

I was dying laughing for most of the third episode. I really can't explain why I thought it was so funny for that guy to watch a bug crawl into Ron's phone, make the exact face I made, and then tell him about it on his way out the door, but I do know that I almost lost consciousness.

Douglas' "Mistakes Party"? Come on, man, let's appreciate what we have here.

I have laughed at a few particular gags (online petition for “something football” at the new mall, using a little person to spy on Ron, Ron trying to be a good dad while also investigating a worldwide conspiracy, etc). I do hope for some surprises ahead, everything has essentially played out like I would have storyboarded it in my head.

Season 6 has already been filmed (I did not watch the preview at the end of season 5, I don't want to know, use spoilers if you watched it). Season 7 was supposed to start filming this month. Unlike most Apple content this one is on a pretty regular release schedule.

I started Down Cemetery Road. So far I like it. ETA: This show is from the executive producers of Slow Horses.

I forgot to mention Down Cemetery Road is based on a series of books by Mick Herron, written before he started the Slough House series.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Finished The Diplomat. Solid season but not as good as 1&2 imo. First half of the season was great. Second half had a lot of filler. Pretty good setup for next season.

Agreed with everything here. I like some soapy elements in the show but just about all of them whiffed for me this season. The show's at its best when it sticks to the political stuff.

I am guessing The Chair Company will be like ITYSL in that it gets better with repeated viewings. I stopped watching halfway through episode one out of boredom but went back and stuck with it. I think it got progressively better with each episode. I think his humor is much better suited for sketch comedy bits but at the very least this is keeping me interested.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I think the jury is still out. I still think it can be fun and weird and memorable. But there has not been much in the first three episodes I’d need to see again. Im guessing there are some twists to come. Tim is too unconventional a comedian to just coast through a predictive slow burn of a conspiracy story. If this turns out to be anything like a ITYSL skit the whole second half is going to be hilarious and bizarre.

The deal between YouTube TV and Disney expired at midnight. ABC and all ESPN channels have been removed. There's the usual pissing match going on and no doubt a deal will be made. But from what I read Disney's demands are crazy high. They want to drive YouTube TV customers to the ESPN streaming app or Fubo, which Disney owns. I like YouTube TV but I'm no Google fanboy. But in this case Disney can pound sand. I don't want Google to cave and pass along the cost to me. I'll just watch ESPN content via alternative methods.

I really liked House of Dynamite but the ending was a cop out/frustrating.

Yeah, i was pretty locked in initially and even with the second part, but was over it on the 3rd part and the ending was so weak. I get what they were trying to do but its a movie, make a decision

Watched Weapons last night. Halfway through, I thought it was an incredible horror/mystery. By the end, I was a bit underwhelmed by how it came together. But I still enjoyed it overall.

Spoiler:
I thought it was an incredible story until it basically turned out that the Aunt was a witch and the explanation for everything. I was hoping it was something more complicated than that. Also, some of the paranormal experiences of the other adults - the visions they were seeing - didn't quite add up.

But the non-linear story was really interesting to keep together - it had us looking for clues or trying to figure out how everything came together. Serious Memento vibes.

Saw The Conjuring: Last Rites in the theaters. Nothing notable - it's pretty much like the other films.

Minus One was probably the best Godzilla they've ever made. Very excited for this one.

Spoiler:
Agree re: Weapons. I thought Aunt Gladys was absolutely terrifying until it turned out that she was, like you said, just a human voodoo witch kinda thing. Movie became significantly less scary after that, but I guess if the goal was to give us some of the most unsettling horror movie scenes in modern cinema, oh boy did it still deliver on that end. I was watching late at night by myself, and I audibly said "NOPE" the second this scene started:

**** nightmare fuel.

One of my comments regarding Weapons but also modern horror in general:

Spoiler:
ReasonablySober wrote:I think it's because it's really tough to buy a supernatural explanation in the final act. If a movie is grounded for 85% of its runtime and then pulls the rug out from under you because, I don't know, reasons, it just leaves you feeling unsatisfied. All of the sudden there's a witch or a psychic or some beast...whatever.

Spoiler:
Yeah, that scene was scary as ****. Also, the scene in which the principal kills his husband and then tries to hunt down the teacher. That first scene when we just see him attack her and Josh Brolin was a "WTF HAPPENED TO HIM?" moment, but then flashing back and watching him get turned and then head butting his husband to death. ****, that was scary as hell.
