Kessler alone is worth more than AD. Lakers are not trading Reaves for Gafford.

I don't think a franchise like Utah has any desire for AD. IMO, if it happens, it'd be a "win now" from a team like MIA or ATL (once KP has his season-ending injury).

AR would be a great fit, but no way LAL moves him for Gaff. Markkanen and Kessler would simply add to our frontcourt log jam.

We need a starting PG or a 3&D SG. Either one would have to be ideal playing with Kyrie.

Street clothes is almost untradable right now, he can't play 5 games in a row.

You need another Silver intervention to find a trade partner for him.

Ja morant is done at Memphis... Fire Nico and hire a coach who can trade for him without give up Coop.

At this point Id trade AD for either Morant or Lamelo. Both are immature, but at least they have heart

I’ve thought about the Mavs trading for Ja but is he actually good or is he just fast and athletic? He’s fun to watch on the fast break and he can definitely put on a show with his ability to dunk but is he actually any good? To me he seems to be a younger version of Westbrook.

He is good, not good as Luka, Wemba, Jokic ecc ecc but he is still in the second tier (for sure he was there, injuries and stuffs of the court limited him a lot).

I don't know if he is the right man to put along Coop (probably not) but Ja-Max-Coop-PJ-Street clothes could be a decent lineup.

Yeah unfortunately MEM is not trading for AD with JJJ on the team already. Plus, what do you do with Kyrie? It's almost the same player with defensive struggles, can't play them both.
If MEM trades Ja, i'm pretty sure they'll want a PG in return or something similar, a star combo guard and a ton of picks. Probably perfect trade for them would be with ATL for Trae.

It's time to be realistic, the project around Kyrie&AD is done. Over. Finish. Never started. Zero.

But you are right, we have no assets to trade for Ja...

The only franchise I think who would be interested in AD right now would be MIA, then ATL once KP has his season ending injury. Not sure I'd want anything MIA would offer, so at least a third team would be involved. With ATL, I'd want Dyson Daniels, who would be perfect with Kyrie.

What about Dillon Brooks? He’s a solid defender. He’s scheduled to make $21M this season and $19M next season. The Suns might have some interest in AD however I don’t think Nico would trade him for anything less than what he considers a superstar player in return.

Would the Suns be willing to trade Brooks for Caleb and Naji? Would the Mavs have to include a pick? Is Brooks worth that much?

As expected, D'Angelo Russell sucks.

11 years in the league and 5 teams.

32% from the field is what he is shooting for us.

36% from the field last season. Everybody and their grandma knows he is an issue for any roster.

4th most shot attempts on our team.

The alternatives are even worse... That's the problem.

DLo is clearly a skilled player. But watching him play I can see why he’s been on 5 teams and no one has committed to him being the full time PG. To me it seems like he thinks he’s the star player.

Think about how different this roster would be if the Grimes trade didn't go down and we signed Lonzo instead of DLo...

Lonzo, BWill
Grimes, Max
Cooper, Naji
PJ, AD
AD, Dlive, Gaff

Look at that LAL team before Lebron and AD...

Under-achievers:
DLo
Kuzma

Good players:
Ingram
Randle

Defensive Studs:
Hart
Caruso
KCP
B.Lopez

And it's still not a contender team.

Keep in mind this team is insanely desperate for a good playmaker... So i would assume Mavs would look for someone in that ballpark. But then again, it's Nico so you never know what he'll come up. No one thought he would trade basically the best playmaking forward since Lebron who was perfect for this team.

If you had to guess, everything from the FO says they don't want a ball dominant PG. Kyrie is perfect in that role. IMO, any big move would be for a big defensive stud SG who is combo enough to get us through Kyrie's absence and pairs well with him when Kyrie returns. My hope of all hopes, that'd be D.Daniels.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
