Maybe on a trial basis after Buyout.
Hadn't been following Ja or the Grizzlies, but did a deep dive over the past 24 hours because we obviously have an opportunity for a PG.
Ja suffers from the all too familiar pitfall for young players the NBA: Aestheticly pleasing players who have quick success and hypnotize people into believing them as studs, and untouchable assets, yet they never actually earn.
While the reality is the impact never quite matched the hype, the big contract arrived, the injury games piled up, and the warts finally mange to defeat the facade that has been built up.
With injuries, salary, effort, and now discontent, i faile to see how Ja Morant could be viewed as anything other than a bad contract, unless of course your head is still buried in the sands of unearned optimism.
Now we all will still remember Ja at his best, and it is enticing to try to rekindle that, but that is a desperation move. You have to be solving another issue to make that gamble. IE dumping a Paul George, or trying to make a last ditch effort to appease a Giannis.
Houston is not a desperate team, quite the opposite. Minnesota might be getting there however.
