Scherzer this season has gotten absolutely wrecked in the 1st inning but is significantly better after that. A clean 1st inning tonight from him would be huge. Either way two times through the order should be the absolute limit for him, and my guess is the hook will be a lot sooner unless he's dominating. All hands on deck from there.

Call me crazy but I’d move Barger up to #2

Springer
Barger
Vlad
Bo
Varsho
Kirk
Lukes
Clement
Gimenez

Yeah that was my lineup pick today. Lukes 2 spot is silly despite his ability to work walks and get on base. Just man I hope he comes through today were gonna need 5+ runs to win

Lukes still at 2

Oh well. He’s been solid all season and has had plenty of clutch hits. Hope he comes through tonight.

Big mistake

However, given how much of a Varsho Fan Boy you are- you believe he is perfectly fine hitting 5th, and choking like a dog with men on base on a regular basis. Swinging like a fool at balls out of the Strike Zone, which you think is "bad luck". No bad luck. This is how he has always been. Any quality production from a typical Number 5 hitter, and the Jays win yesterday and possibly the 18 Inning game in LA.

Varsho will hit the occasional home run, which he can do hitting in the bottom of the order. You do not want him hitting 8th, fine put him at 7. But get both Lukes and Varsho put of the Top 5 for once. I just want to win, and Varsho hitting 5th with his awful hitting numbers on the tweet I posted, needs to be in the bottom of the order. Hopefully Schneider learns from Dave Roberts and makes that move.

Varsho is batting 5th or 6th it just makes the most sense with the way the lineup is constructed lol Barger probably takes Lukes spot today and that might be the only change we make. We need to split up the lefties and Lukes has been worse than Varsho this series anyways lol.

Are my best guesses at lineups and either way its Varsho hitting 5th or 6th lol weve never stacked our lefties together all season and were not doing it kn game 7
Your 2nd order is the one I hope to see.

Clement should also bat before varshow

No excuses today! Just win!

We can dissect today as much as we want, but baseball is crazy! Have a clean top of the first, get the bats going ASAP, and like all of us are saying...just win!!

I've made peace with the possibility of losing. Toronto has actually been pretty good in Finals series across various sports the past few decades (Jays 92-93, Raps 2019)--you eventually have to lose a few sometime. And as I've said, the vision of Ed Rogers holding up the trophy does make me grimace a bit so if you wanna be petty there's that silver lining if we lose.

That being said, I do also hate the idea of the Dodgers celebrating in the Skydome. Then again, it's not Skydome anymore, it's "Rogers Centre" anyway.

I do think the pressure is on the Dodgers now though. Yesterday everyone was expecting the Jays to make the one big play to bring it home, but the players couldn't handle the pressure whenever runners were in scoring position. Now after the Jays blundering Game 6, most people probably expect the Dodgers to win the series. So hopefully now the Jays can relax a bit and play their game.

If Barger was hitting in Varsho's place yesterday we're likely world series champs today. Ah well, better late than never to make the adjustment.

Absolutely. We could have won yesterday, and possibly the 18 inning game in LA if you got any decent production from your Number 5 hitter with men on base. A move that was long overdue, which needed to be made much sooner.

Maybe hitting at 7th also will take the pressure off Varsho a bit, and he can relax and get some quality at bats at hits. Varsho has performer better in his career hitting in the bottom of the order. Hope it pays off tonight.

And if Varsho didn’t hit a 2 run shot off Snell while he was completely dominating game 1, maybe we get swept

Awfully ironic that Barger produced more in that first game off of the bench as a late-inning PH than Varsho has in the entire World Series.
