Before this season. Getting Pg should have been the biggest priority for Mavs, apparently not for Nico. He probably believed they can win games scoring 90 points.

I’m not disagreeing with you. PG should have been a priority for them in the off season. They didn’t though and here we are. So going forward trying to figure who they can realistically get in a trade is what we’ve been discussing.

And I'm telling you, they need legit Pg not another Sg.

So with that said, who are their best realistic options to fill that role going forward?

It depends, if Nico wants to part away with AD, which he doesn't. If not and he and Kyrie stay, we will see D wins championships till those 2 don't retire and there's nothing valuable around Flagg. There's really no need to talk about that until Nico is fired. Meaning you should root for Mavs to lose as much as possible.

Probably the most realistic target is Fox, Spurs have got their long term Pg this year.

There’s more need to talk about where this team is going than to talk about a player who isn’t even on the team anymore and will never be in the team again.

Here we go again, you disappear for few weeks, come back and then tell us, who we should talk about? Just go ....

And if you didn't notice, this team isn't going anywhere, not this and not next 5 years, unless Nico is fired immediately.

I wasn’t wrong. Regardless if you like it or not this team is moving forward. Some of us here are going to want to talk about that too.

Morant/ORL 30 1st for AD
Salary releif to open up other trades, and extra 1st.
Morant/DLo
Christie/Martin
Klay/Naji
Flagg/PJ
Lively/Gaff
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.

Great... From Finals to talk about a rebuild, it's excited. Maybe not so much! But talk!

This would come down to how bad do they want to dump Ja Morant. I don’t think Memphis would have a need for AD considering they already have JJJ. If Nico were ever actually willing to trade AD I think it would have to be a 3 team trade at least.

AD is a center, these 5 games made it very clear, and he completes JJJ very well.

Better than Lively or Gafford for sure.

But i don't think anyone trade for street clothes unless it's for peanuts.

“Kai is going to be a perfect fit with Cooper Flagg, when you talk about his skillset of being able to dribble and score,” Kidd said. “He also creates space on the floor for Cooper, and vice versa.

“We just can’t wait to get Kai back, at some point. Hopefully it’s in the year of ’25 — not ’26. We’ll see what happens, but I think those two will be a perfect match in the backcourt.”

The first time in a while a potential timeline for Kyrie's return has been revealed since the season began. A return in December would be about 9 months from his injury. Usually the return from an ACL is 9-12 months. He's starting to ramp up more in his drills. Exciting news that Kyrie is getting closer to his return.

They are going to rush him back, aren't they? :noway:

Not Kyrie. He won't come back until he is 100% ready. He knows better and has a contract. Coming back is only 50% of the puzzle, next 50% is how he looks and how long will he need to be normal himself. Normally players reach their previous level only next season.

They will rush him for sure.

I can immagine how is excited Ky to come back early to risk another injury to play for a team with 10W-30L record. Wow.

IMO, Ja is definitely going to be moved. They have JJJ as their cornerstone. It'd be interesting how they value AD, who's a perfect C for JJJ. If MEM isn't interested, I think MIA would be a good 3rd team, with AD going to MIA, Ja to DAL, and Herro + picks/pieces to MEM.

Nico is definitely not moving AD. Even if he sees his mistake, very doubtful, he just can't. He will wait at least next season to see what he has.

I'm afraid you are correct. Kyrie + picks for Ja?

Return to Dallas Mavericks
