Coop is gonna be **** good man. He just needs to get a proper off season and get used to the NBA.

What do you think Dallas is? They have a ton of Mexican-American fans (as do all of the Texas teams).

Bucks were screwed to an insane degree. The crew chief Mitchell Ervin was calling non-existent fouls for the Kings from the opposite end of the floor. Dude needs to be investigated and thrown in jail.

He reminds me of young Dwight Howard every time I see him on the court. Wish he was a bit more active defensively but he's going to be really good for a long time.
He looks kinda like Dwight, but plays nothing like him, really. Duren has better touch and is more fluid on offense, although he isn’t used as a primary scorer the way Dwight was. But defensively, they are worlds apart.
The hope is that Duren gets better defensively, because he needs Stewart to carry him on that end right now, either as a duo or for Stew to play more minutes against scoring bigs. He doesn’t guard the perimeter at all, so stretch bigs torch him, and his man defense isn’t very good either. Bad on the P&R, too. He has looked better lately, but it’s still a project. We shall see. It’s not like Stewart is a heavy minutes starter anyway — he fouls too much and doesn’t work with Cade as lob threat. Better to have both and mix-and-match.

I feel like Dwight Howard had too much immediate success too soon (in terms of individual and team) at Orlando and he let that fame get into his head and he stopped working as hard as he previously did and probably slackened off by the time he first joined the Lakers.
He could and should have been a significantly better player than what he ended up being (still a hall of famer though)
Happily for Pistons fans, I think Duren has his head screwed on right and won't make the same mistakes as Dwight did, even if he is less naturally talented.
What you have to remember about big men in the NBA is they develop differently as players (not just physically but also how they read the game) differently to other/smaller sized players.
What's great about Duren is that he seems pretty durable, doesn't miss many games though injury, which is what you want first and foremost in a talented 5.

Yeah. I meant that he reminded me of Dwight because of the ridiculous physique (similar height & mass) for the age, not play style. Based on his athleticism though, he should be better defensively… but there is so much anticipation, skill, and timing to just think he can be great defensively just because he’s physically gifted. Still, like I said, he’s going to be good for a long time.

Wish that were true. He’s had repeated ankle troubles, tho nothing really recently. My theory is that his ankles have caused him to be shy about jumping and contesting in traffic. On offense, he can just grab the rim. Just a theory.

Leaving that many points at the line sucks in a tight game.

I feel your angst.
The Celtics were absolutely hosed by the refs yesterday in Philly, in one of the most disgraceful and one sided officiating farces i have seen in recent years.
Embiid kicks Gonzales in the nuts and gets free throws (for example)
I stand by belief that the officiating is still a major problem/issue for The NBA and Adam Silver has his head in the sand about it..

Bucks/Kings was especially crazy because it was legit just the crew chief Ervin over and over again making calls benefiting the Kings. Multiple BS technical fouls, phantom whistle overs and over again including in the 4th. And worst of all Ervin wasn't even the ref positioned to make many of them. Other refs called nothing and he called late fouls on Bucks. He just took it upon himself to dictate the outcome of the game.

Fair enough, apologies to Mavs fans.
I just remember Spurs having a big Mexican boost cause I the big DVD boxsst of their champions and on many of their championship season review discs, there was plenty of passionate Mexican Spurs fans wearing their sombreros and celebrating in unique Mexican/Hispanic style for their team (including having beautiful pre game Mexican BBQs before finals game, damn i am hungry for Mexican food now lol)
I am Aussie btw so forgive me if I am a bit naive to other fanbases and their demographic.

Basically, Phoenix, the Texas and California teams have a strong base of Hispanic fans. New York and Florida too (but other nationalities as well aside from Mexican).

Some impressive blocks in the Mabs/Pistons game.

That block is why I laugh everytime someone just "throws in" Stewart into a trade. He is an absolute beast at the rim.

Mavs with some absolutely bone-headed telegraphed plays... DLo's entry pass was so telegraphed 2 pistons help defenders went for it and got the ball.

Pistons play like they dont have a scorer on their roster. Both teams playing bad but Mavs have no business in this game if DLo isnt shooting the lights out

Ivey will help a lot when he returns. Once he gets back to full speed he should be close to 20ppg.
