Varsho was overmatched in World series, look like a little leaguer out there...there was 3 batters on jays that everyone had zero confidence they would do anything offensively:

It's funny cause LA had similar like CF who was doing jack offensively, and they took him out...in Andy Pages, they kept in for early part cause he could run into a HR, just like Varsho, but he started not producing even as the #9 hitter, and didn't want nobody at #9 cause then Othani wouldn't get front protection.

There is no doubt Varsho saved a run with that diving catch, but he basically gave it up because he couldn'tproduce anything in this game with multiple chances, all he had to do is POP a fly ball to the outfield like one job, and strikeouts.

We had the bases loaded 3 times this game and came up with no runs. Two of those times were with 1 out. This one will linger when you missed that many opportunities.

Based loaded with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th has a winning probability of 76% in a vacuum.

But Varsho's bat is a vacuum

Taking out Bo when they did was the right decision. He can’t run.

Disagree. We saw what he did in the 3rd inning. Absolutely no reason to take him out of the game at that point after a lead-off single with the lefty-on-lefty matchup and two struggling hitters coming up. Barger had an incredible AB and Kirk stuck in there to take one for the team, but it was already a very steep hill to climb – especially with Yamamoto ready in the pen to take over if Snell couldn't get the job done.

If Bo stays in the game, that 11th inning more than likely plays out entirely different and we are either still playing baseball at this point in the 13th/14th inning or we're celebrating.

It was absolutely the right decision. He couldn't move out there and already cost us a run with his base running in the 2nd inning.

He may have cost us a run in the 2nd, but he gave us three massive runs the very next inning.

I just don't think that's a move you make with a lead-off single in a tie game. If we were trailing and we were going to play some small ball (stolen base to sacrifice bunt to sacrifice fly/RBI groundout) to try to extend the game, it absolutely makes sense. Or if Bo somehow found his way to 2nd in a tie game, you bring in the pinch runner then. Not with Bo at first base and 3 favourable matchups for the Dodgers' pitchers coming up though.

Problem was we started putting all our "D" guys, Straw, IKF, Varsho is already D on no offense guy, Gimi too... Was going to be tough to string hits, we'd have to hit an HR.

Hoping this team can upgrade in both CF and LF, over both Lukes and Varsho for 2026. Rogers made plenty of money. Go sign Bellinger to be your everyday Centre Fielder, and acquire another power bat for LF.

I don't see this core getting back here tbh, you just don't recover from a loss like this. It would be one thing if we got swept or lost in 5, quite another to have it in your grasp in the 9th and blow it.

Remember the Texas Rangers in 2011? That was a legit great team that had a similar meltdown in Game 6 in the 9th inning, then meekly went out in Game 7. They regressed and became the Jays punching bag in 15 and 16 before eventually winning it all in 2023 with a completely different team.

There is absolutely no chance we get back here with this core.

Scherzer, Gausman, Bassitt, Berrios, and Springer are all in their mid-30s or older, and a few are free agents. Most of them will decline next year.

Bo is a free agent and likely gone. Clement and Lukes are scrubs who got hot for a few months. They will regress.

This was our last hurrah with this core, like in 2016.

Giving $ to Bellinger LHB with power and not strikeout much is a good choice over Bo because we have 20M+ Gimenez at SS and Clement at 2B. LHB also balances our right-hand biased lineup
