It's not just him. The entire front office doesn't live in reality either. It's a point I've been making pretty consistently and believe it wholeheartedly.

The front office and coaching staff are an unserious, delusional bunch.

How is Barnes the problem right now? wth?

The haters have their narrative no matter what.

I think there is a large category of fans who are not "haters" but are concerned that Barnes is not a franchise player. Not yet at least. And normally you pay the max to franchise players.

So it's not the player per se but the contract he has which is turning them off.

Who exactly has darkos systems put in the right situation to excel at and who exactly has he developed well as a developmental coach?

Legit question asking for a legit answer. There might be things im not considering. Help me out.

Is quickley being optimized? Scottie? This year maybe but the last 2? Has he developed a lot? Is Ingram being optimized? Maybe? Id still like him involved more. Rj when the teams healthy yes. Dick? No. Developmentally? No. Jakobe? Idk yet. CMB playing the 5? Tough. Mogbo? I dont see much development there. Idk why they were trying to make him a wing type. That delayed him... shead fits things...

Darkos defensive system being the one from summer league is a running joke because it doesn't fit the starting 5 at all. The fact that 5 games in he had to scrap it is a bit concerning...

Can anyone help me out? What aspects am i missing? Im trying to be.as fair as possible.

This how other teams are talking about our defense

Got no problem with leaving Jabari Smith open but those doubles to Sengun leaving KD open were actually insane

Darko needs to change this scheme or he has to go.

Hell, he might have to go regardless for even thinking this scheme was a good idea in the first place.

I doubt that had anything to do with scheme, you're not doubling/tripling Sengun that far from the rim under any circumstances. It's guys not executing out there.

Maybe he can go back to his Pick and Roll paper he wrote in college to freshen up a bit...

Unless Bobby can do for Darko what Masai did for Casey or BC did for Smitch, I think his days as a HC in this league are numbered. Though given they re-upped him recently if I'm not mistaken, I'm afraid he still has enough time to install his "who's a good boy" sticker system before he's gone...

BTW, they picked this guy for Scottie... let that marinate for a bit.

Rookie max.
8-16 million kinda matters.

It's not really the dollars that he's talking about, it's the expectations that come with a "max" tag. Many of the decisions made in the last 3 years - trading OG and targeting IQ, demoting Siakam and moving off of him, bringing in Darko and his system, drafting a guy like Dick, bringing in an isolation scorer in Ingram - have been done with Scottie in mind as the top of the totem pole. Couple that with the max designation and it's not hard to see why many are down on Scottie right now.

Calling anyone that is down on Scottie a hater feels like what folks used to do on this forum when many of us were calling for DeRozan to be shipped out. There has been enough time and enough sample size to come to a negative view on Scottie. With that said, many of us still hope he succeeds and proves us wrong, because his development is the only chance we have of being a real threat in the league. And he gives you just enough to keep holding out hope so there is that.
