lebron didn't come to LA for basketball, he came for hollywood. except for the covid ring it's been a big fat fail. and lebron is part of a long line. west/baylor/wilt/kareem, magic, kobe, shaq done it already. lebron wants to get his name in the club with THOSE GUYS

ohtani may have helped revive baseball in general not only by being good, but by being unique

LeBron came to LA for life outside of basketball. He came for business. He came for his family.

He won a ring in a unique environment.

He brought back excitement in LA after a piss-filled 6 years.

Ohtani is more unique than LeBron and significantly younger. Who knows how many championships LeBron wins in LA if he goes there at 29 instead of 34.

We shouldn't limit it to sports; my neighbor up the street just got a big work promotion and I'd like to use that to remind everyone that LeBron didn't play very well in the Finals 14 years ago.

LeBron came to LA post-prime on the back end of his career...

Not a fan of the guy but come on now, under the new CBA and luxury tax and apron strings, its impossible to build a show times Lakers and 00-10s Lakers Dynasty from a cheque book anymore

Lakers fans probably are entitled to feel aggrieved a bit about Bronny taking up a roster spot, but other than that, Lebron has been awesome for The Lakers, is it really his fault Rob Pelinka is an incompetent GM ?

I would never badmouth a Celtics player and influential figure who won us a chip (granted i had turbulent feelings towards Ray Allen for a while but those gave been resolved)

Lebron deserves a bit more respect from The OP (and some, not all, Lakers fans)

LeBron brought in Westbrook. That was pretty bad.

Man yall falling for this-

Most of yall ain’t been to or watch a regular season baseball game in person or tv in years…. And most of yall have watched a random reg season LBJ game.

People get hyped around the WS and playoff baseball, which is amazing but then go back to nba and nfl and nhl for actually day to day excitement asap:::

Stop acting like anyone other than dodgers fans watching random Tuesday night games with Ohtani…. Smh - love this story how can a guy yall don’t watch do more than the guy yall been watching religiously for nearly a decade.

For Clarity- lbj did more for la while he was playing for the Heat than most guys cause yall actually showed up to his games lol

Of course he has. But we should expect that. Ohtani is in the middle of his prime. LeBron came to LA at the tail end of his.

Ohtani will probably end up going down as the biggest sports icon in Los Angeles history.

Imagine if LeBron won two titles in his prime but didn’t win finals MVP in either of those titles… so many haters would never recover from it

It was COVID.. lots of uncertainty..

The Lakers winning that after years of mediocrity in the latter years of Kobe & post Kobe ; was still great for the city

that is one of the dumbest narratives. fans act like the ring was gifted to lebron, when in fact everybody had to deal with the same circumstances. I dont see why the ring "wouldnt count".

but as per usual realgm, reddit and social media commentators look for anything to throw shade at lebron. It got quiet around here with lebron hate threads, its time we got a new one i guess :D

Please don't confuse Lebron haters with California fans. Had Lebron came to Sac and won us a championship, I would have gladly proclaimed it.
