Rockets too big, too quick, too athletic... We need some serious talent influx...

tough task after the previous night's draining win. for a team that plays as hard as we do this has been a brutal early season schedule. hopefully we can get our mojo back by monday.
i agree. maybe we can get that guy jayson tatum. he seems good.

We all know this team will be much better with our best player actually playing but even with JT we are not close to being a contender...
We need a starting center and a point guard. Pritchard is good but he should be coming off the bench...

And just like that, Rico now leading the team in 3pt%, FG%, TS%, and PIE.

PP wondering why he's the guard who maybe should be sent to the bench.

If November is the basis for what happens in April then the 2022 Celtics would not have made the finals and the 2024 Mavs would not have reached the finals in 2024.
Too early to make conclusions.

He's not getting wide open shots out of Tatum drive-and-kick, he's getting tossed live grenades he has to chuck or trying to go one on one against physical perimeter defenders...
We've got to get him some better shots, some open shots and (also) he just needs to get hot and hit 3 or 4 in a row because he's struggling like I haven't seen out of him in yrskane0801 wrote:White looks ass this season,he can't shoot
That's the problem with White, he's not really a 1 on 1 player.
White was so good when all the pressure was on Tatum and Brown.
Now that White has to be the 2nd option, he's struggling because creating his own shot is not exactly what he does.
White is averaging 18 shot attempts per game this year, the highest of his career (by a whopping 4 shots more than his highest season). Simons is averaging only 13, a four year low for him. This has to flip flop for us to be successful. White should not be getting more shots up than Simons.

But I don't think we have to worry about western teams right now.
If the Cs were in the western conference, I would agree that this would absolutely be a bridge year.
Since the Cs are in the east, I think Brad needs to do what he can to prepare this team for the playoffs because the east is wide open.
I said Simons is a luxury the Celtics can't afford.
This game is proof of that.
Simons' playing time was limited because he's just too small.
Just not a good fit for this Cs team.
It doesn't have to be immediate, but Brad needs to trade Simons for a bigger player with a lesser salary.
This team is going nowhere this season even as 7th seed. I just don’t think they’re good. They’re lacking scoring depth. I wanna see more Gonzalez. Even if they get tatum back we don’t know how he will play. Even if he played well I still some depth issue.

Re: Celts Eyebrows Burnt Off In Rocket Explosion! Loss vs HOU 11/1
We have an issue with the 3pt shots
WE get many wide open shots and we just brick them. Not the usual miss. Bricks
Watching other teams' bench and scrubs knocking wide open 3s makes me angry
This is your job. This is what you do. Train a lot more. You should knock these open shots at a high clip
In this game Minott, Walsh, Simons and Harper all missed badly wide open 3s while HOU just kept making these
I don't say we would have won - the talent discrepancy is huge. Just stay competitive and grow

Houston shot 65% from beyond the arc. Part of that was poor closeouts by the Celtics, but very few teams can withstand that kind of barrage. Ime's revenge.

I dont think we can beat Houston in a 7 game series with this current roster, even with Tatum playing.
So this was a very understandable result coming off a back to back and Houston shooting 65% from 3
I still think Ime is a really good coach

Free throw discrepancy was huge….35 to 7.
They should look better against the Jazz….should.

Lol. This team is bargain basement after it's top 4.
We have
Brown,
Simons,
Hauser
Pritchard
Every other player is on a minimum deal or a rookie scale contract. You can't get more cheap than that.

While their 3-pointers were dropping at a 65% clip, ours were mostly off the mark. Houston is a big, talented team, and even if our 3-point shots had been falling at the same rate, we likely would have lost considering we were out rebounded by 17 boards. Not much positive about this game, though Baylor showed well. Jaylen with 10 turnovers in the last two games. SMH.

And the solution for that is what? Spending more and going over the apron we just got under? The Celtics had to cut payroll
to avoid the penalties associated with the new NBA collective bargaining agreement, which could have resulted in a combined payroll and luxury tax bill of nearly $500 million. In addition to the substantial monetary penalty for being over the first apron, the Celtics were facing severe trade penalties for being over the second apron:
Key trade-related penalties for being over the second apron include:
Inability to aggregate contracts: Teams cannot combine the salaries of multiple players to acquire a higher-salary player in a trade. Trades must be essentially dollar-for-dollar (salary matching is limited to 100% of outgoing salary).
Cannot send cash in trades: Teams are prohibited from including cash considerations to sweeten a deal or buy draft picks.
Loss of access to certain trade exceptions: Teams cannot use Traded Player Exceptions (TPEs) generated from prior years.
Trade restrictions on future first-round picks:
A team cannot trade its first-round pick that is seven years in the future (the pick is frozen).
If a team remains over the second apron for three out of five seasons, that frozen first-round pick is automatically moved to the end of the first round.
Inability to acquire players via sign-and-trade: A team cannot acquire a player via a sign-and-trade deal.
I'm sure you are well aware of all this, so not sure why you are making the point that many of our players are on player minimum, and rookie scale salaries. It was necessary, right? I'm not sure, because your "Lol" throws me a bit. What's funny?

Boucher couldn't have been tired from all those minutes he's been playing.
I'm going to rewatch to take a closer look at Boucher's play. Minott was good imo. Was very happy to see more screen setting and above the break actions on offense. Don't want him shooting 6 3's in a game really, but, when there is little off-ball action to open up passing lanes, he took them responsibly. But you see him able to help swing the ball at times and find the rare paint touch and kick opportunity.
Scheierman's shots went down so he looked better of course. He's been playing solid defense in the difficult role they're putting him. He came into the league with decent (for a wing) rebounding skillset. I want to see some attempt to get him downhill with screens at times to drive and kick.
Was very happy Walsh got in there to battle on the boards and low post defensively. He got his 4 rebounds in his first 10 minutes then shut out the last 7 minutes out there. But this is the muscle memory that he should (imo) take with him when he's playing at Maine. Minott and Walsh have slim lanes to carve out steady NBA roles. Minott's touch above athletically seems to be keeping him competitive on the glass. I've seen glimpses of it with Walsh at times and I still think that should be his focus while still working on his shot. He too was liberally setting screens. He's not going to leap Minott for the role here so I'm not banging the drum to keep Walsh. But I also don't think it's impossible that he's someone else's Minott (or Brissett if it's easier to swallow that) in time.
Baylor is Brat.
