I don't think he's a starter, but with the right team (Pistons, Rockets, Raptors) he absolutely should have positive trade value as a potential sixth man. He should excel in that role on a team with too many defenders, but not enough offensive creation, and is on an expiring contract.

So Orlando? Houston?

Yes, there are 4 or 5 teams that have the type of defensive personnel to rotate in and could really use his offensive production. There are a couple of teams that don't, but really need bench scoring and should do it anyway.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I would be very frustrated if we traded Sexton that cheap. We've been avoiding competence at backup PG (seemingly on purpose) the last 10 years. Throwing him away would be a huge mistake given how injury prone our leading scorers are.

Yeah, that is the thing. If he can't return a first, we just hang on to the good production.

Sounds familiar.

If you can get a first you should absolutely trade him.

The chance of you getting a first is that some team gets desperate for offensive production come trade deadline. Or dumping off worse contract on you.

I really don't think Sexton is going to be moved, he keeps the offense functional without LaMelo on the court and helps LaMelo give up some pressure of having to be the only ball handler on the floor when they play together. I do think Tre Mann could be moved to balance out the roster with another wing or big. He is coming back from a year long absence and starting to hit his rhythm the last few games.

The same teams that could be a good fit for Sexton would also be a good fit for Tre (Orlando, Houston, Dallas come to mind).

Hornets are severely undersized not just at C but at the 4 spot too. Without Grant Williams, it's Miles Bridges and Tidjane Salaun... But there's plenty of guards! With Kon and Sion being major rotational pieces/starter quality that leaves Tre very expendable.

I also doubt the Hornets deal Sexton. He's the one guy on the roster with a drive and kick game which is vital when trying to develop a shooter like Kon. I doubt they can get enough value to much consider a trade.

I’m not saying from the perspective of the Bucks. I wouldn’t be interested in him from the Bucks.
