There's a chance (a pretty good one too) that the Hawks are going to get a top 3 pick because of that Queen trade.

Let's be honest. It's the Hornets. That pick is being surrendered

Nick Smith Jr is absolutely cooking vs the Blazers tonight. Still can’t believe we couldn’t find a way to keep him.

We can't play this game anytime one of our ex players has a random good game.

This is nothing new from nick. We all know he can have an outlier red hot shooting night from time to time. If you put the ball in his hands enough and give him enough shots he's occasionally going to have a game like this. Microwave scoring is what he does. But this only happens in a situation where the Lakers top three ball handlers and scores are out. There's no other situation where he gets this much usage. It's a great story for him. But barring an incredible barrage of injuries, he goes right back to his role of 10th to 12th man after this game.

Best case scenario is he's a dude that you throw in the game when you're down 15 hoping that he can randomly get hot and get you back in a game. Otherwise he's not really bringing enough to keep him on the floor.

But keeping him here? No point. He'd still be behind like 7 guys.... Melo, sex, mann, kon, sion, Miller, liam....Liam..... then he competes with kj and pat for 8th. Did we need another ball stopper me first combo? One is enough.

The real shame is that we weren't able to get some sort of asset in a return trade. Would have been nice if we could have gotten back a second round pick and a trade earlier in the summer or last year.

But it will be fun watching Lakers fans talk him up for the next few weeks as if they just landed some diamond in the rough, until they realize that was just a one-off.

Good news for Nick though, if he can just have one of those games in the playoffs he'll get enough eyeballs on him to secure another contract with another team next year. Play well for Lakers = get paid.

People might write off the Okogie thing because hes just a role player and it might not be a huge deal, but its one of those things that even though its kind of a small deal, its just not really justifiable in any way to me. Like I can't find any logic to support it being a good idea to not keep Okogie around on this roster for 8 mil a year.

He’s getting 22 minutes a game for a pretty damn solid rockets team. Just a terrible decision not to keep him. That’s putting it mildly

I agree completely.
Mark, Terry, Micic - good riddance.
Nick, Cody, Taj - ehh, whatever.
Okogie - that one stinks, we need hustlers who are sturdy and come to play every night

I think the Hornets would be significantly better if they had Mark and Okogie.

Are you being serious with this or just taking a jab? Just checking before I put effort into explaining the difference.

Kinda like how Charles had Mark or Richards help off a non-shooter instead of letting them guard the big straight up

If you can't see the irony of this, then idk what to tell you.
Literally 3 hours after going on a long rant about how we can't scoreboard keep our ex players, he does just that.
No need to "explain the difference" lol

It shouldn't matter if someone likes one guy more than the other, it's still the kettle calling the pot black.

Anyways, not that serious, just found it humorous.

Well then I assume you know that Okogie is a consistent contributor to an elite team and has been in HOU's rotation all season, whereas NSJ has played in 3 games this season and only meaningfully contributed in one, which means this is not at all an example of pot calling kettle black.

Lol thanks for the explanation I said I didn't need.
