I mean.. I would take him on the Suns if it means ditching Green. Morant actually plays a position of need for us, so there's that.

Pacers have no need for him. I did see some of the Mavs channels I still follow that were getting concerned that Nico Harrison might actually make an offer, Ja is a Nike guy too

With that being said, I'm a huge fan of what Ja brings when he's fully bought-in but there's too much nonsense around this guy.

 Why is this 100% believable? Joe is ready to drop a coin on Ja’s ass

I suspect that limits his appeal to hopeless teams (Kings & Pelicans), but maybe a team like the Heat talks itself into doing something unwise.

I’m waiting for the inevitable Ja for Trae trade which might actually make sense for both teams. The Hawks can pretty much play 4 out and give Ja the space to drive and pressure the rim. Also have defenders at all 4 positions to cover for him. Plus he’s bigger than Trae so he can’t get targeted as much. Ja could spam pick and rolls with Porzingis and Johnson.

Yeah there’s also that. Suns have nothing to lose really. Ja and Book in the backcourt, every one else around the team is 3 and D.

From playing POV you would assume only desperate teams and ones who know they suck and just want to sell tickets would want him.

But nba is filled with incompetent morons in charge, who know less about basketball than 50% of people on forum. So... Market for him is probably better than it should be.

Put him and Zion together, neither guy has lived up to the hype or expectations.

Reminds me a little of when the Wolves traded for Beasley while still having Love.

Get 2 top picks from the same draft, let em sink together.

That is the proper fit. Morant is hard to gauge because of everything everyone has already said. His troubles have lessened his value while his skill set is high.

NOP send Herb Jones/Jordan Poole 2 FRPs (have to give up some value)
Memphis sends Morant/Konchar

Folks will say how Jones is not available, but NOP needs to roll the dice sometime. Jones/Murphy/Williamson is not getting it done, no matter how much folks are enamored with them.

Morant gives Pels the PG they need. Jones gives the Griz the SF defender they need.

Pelicans have elevated Fears to a starting PG role. He is young, but flashing talent and upside. I don't see them giving up an important wing defender like Herb Jones just to bring in a headcase like Ja who could stymie development of Fears. They will fire Willie Green and see if a new coach can get better results with the existing roster. Pels fans, tell me if I'm wrong.

Man, I was such a big fan of his at Murray State, I liked him as a prospect more than Zion even, but I just didn't predict he would just never grow up. He has so much fricken talent, and plays so hard, but he just doesn't really seem to have his priorities straight. He doesn't seem to really care or realize either. It's like he got the bag that he wanted and is good with that.

Jalen Green for Ja Morant works straight up. Could throw in multiple other players to sweeten the pot on either end.

Green is younger and won't be as big a headache.

Suns don't have the rights to their own picks or anything moving forward so they are in win-now mode anyway and if they can get Ja's head on straight he makes a whole lot more sense on that roster then Green does:

Williams/Malluach/Richards/Ighodaro
Brooks/O'Neale
G.Allen/Dunn
Booker/Goodwin
Morant/Gillespie

Other teams that are kind of in a weird holding pattern and would maybe take a buy-low swing for him if his value is around there: Miami, Sacramento, and I'm not putting anything behind dumbass, Joe Dumars in New Orleans.

It's tough because I doubt teams would be willing to give up anywhere near what Memphis would want. Like what benefit is there to trading him for Lavine or Jalen Green? There isn't any. They'd want assets.

The problem with Ja and the Grizzlies is that he's immature and selfish. His talent and skill set are good enough to make the Grizzlies a playoff team year after year. Its his mindset and health that make him a problem.

He’s bound for a perpetually bad franchise like the nets, hornets, or pelicans

He should go to the Bulls, Raptors, Nets, or Hawks.

It's absolutely nothing like that - but nice try?

Ja isn't a wining player. He's a PG who's not a good 3pt shooter and his athleticism is dipping. He's basically late-stage Wizards John Wall, and Wall fell off a cliff once his athleticism left him. We're seeing the same thing happen to Ja AND he's a royal pain in the ass to deal with as well.

To me Ja is just a bad contract for a player who's probably gonna be a shell of his former self by the end of his current contract.

So yes, I want nothing to do with him and I would want compensation back in the form of FRPs because imo, he represents a bad contact that's only going to look worse as it goes on.

POR has avoided guys like him for 20 years.

Yeah, truly speaking, I don't even think pick compensation would be enough for me to consider taking Ja in Portland. He can be some other teams headache.

Pelicans seem like the natural landing spot for him. You can pair Ja and Zion for the 20ish games a year they might actually be available at the same time. They'll provide some highlights, maybe get a few fans in seats and they have zero incentives to tank at this point. They also have a handful of assets they can provide the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies meanwhile should be uber motivated to get rid of Ja this season. They have a nice collection of assets to play with from the Bane deal, a few young promising players and could add to that collection somewhat with a Ja trade. He's not gonna bring back a ton of value, but probably not nothing - especially from a braindead and desperate GM like Billy King who might actually pay more than most other teams. The Grizzlies could retool without a headache in the lockerroom pretty quickly I think.

And for the Pelicans... whatever.

The Kings would be my other team I could see him ending up on. They are probably a bit embarrassed by the loss of both Fox and Hali still and want a "star" PG, so I could see them biting on Ja as they've shown they're OK taking on players most teams don't want. Not sure there's a deal there - but it wouldn't shock me to see Ja in Sacramento.
