Yeah, that's fair. I guess I was thinking more of guys that were material contributors. Brissett was fringe-y.
I def don't compare Brissett to Minott.
Like you said Brissett barely played. Minott already started more games than Brissett did.
Brissett played a good amount..was a top 8 or 9 rotation player for most of the season..his mins went down after we got Tillman but he was still a good 9th/10th man at that point and made solid contributions in the ECF for a team that won the title.
Gotta also consider the difference in how good the teams were. Minott has started a couple of games for us this season - on a team that *much* worse than our 2024 championship team..
Not hating on Minott, though..again, I'm saying he's probably better than Brissett while being like 3 yrs younger.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: Welcome to Boston, Josh Minott!
I'm not going to get over hyped on Minott just because of 2 games. I love what he is doing out there. In the last 2 games, he has been giving this team what it has been missing, which is energy, defense, athleticism and rebounding. People got overly hyped about Hugo after he had one good game.
With that being said, going into the season, I wanted 3 guys to play and develop this season. Queta, Minott and Garza. All have shown good upside, so far in the 5 games. Wishing them continued success.
As far as Hugo, I mentioned about a month ago that I expect nothing from him in the 1st half of the season. If he gives us something, then that is a bonus. I also said he needs to spend a month or two in Maine, just to get reps. He is a player that didn't play much last season for his team. He needs the reps. Especially if he is going to be only getting a few minutes a game here and there. I have no issue on waiting on Hugo. We shouldn't expect too much from him so soon. But I want to see him get about 10-15 minutes a game come January.

Yeah. Hugo arguably should be Practicing with the Maine Celtics, for their Preseason.
Maybe Mazzulla will send him down, back and forth, once the G League Season gets started?

I can't think of any player in the league who plays harder than this guy. Playing hard the entire game is a skill. This guy is a real difference maker. They will probably make the playoffs now that he's starting and I'm not kidding.

Probably pretty obvious as I'm always a big defender of our gritty, try hard guys when it comes to board debates but Minott is quickly becoming a favorite for me. Absolutely love his motor and I hope it's infectious.

I'd keep Minott in the Starting Lineup.
González gets 2nd Unit Minutes off the Bench.

Me and Joe agree…I think.

Dangercart is a nice guy, but I'd be pretty shocked if 3/44 doesn't get it done for Minott in a few years

Also, I'm not sure how many of the teams that signed those players ended up thinking they got great value for that money. I love, love, love, Minott. His shot blocking hasn't translated with more minutes, yet. We'll see if he's a 28%-32% 3pt shooter or moves up a tier in time. His rebounding has been great. I do hope they find a way to take him along for the next window.
If he prices himself out of the C's budget, I'll say this, it may turn out to be a good thing Jordan Walsh is still here. At the very least, this season is going to help Joe solidify an offensive plan for this prototype. Walsh is going to have to help himself, of course, but now there's a blueprint. There wasn't for Brissett.
Baylor is Brat.
