Another off the market.

Also, he’s a free agent this summer. A 5th to a 4th is super high for a rental. I’m not mad at passing on that. We aren’t contenders.

Horrible look.
His son leads the team in targets.

If anyone should be complaining, it is DJ Moore.

Rome - 59 targets, 31 receptions, 473 yards
OZ - 46 targets, 31 receptions, 243 yards
DJ - 44 targets, 30 receptions, 403 yards

Dang, this would have been a really good move for the Bears. Fits what DA asks his ends to do but actually produces and only costs 1.2M this year. If his next contract is 9-10M AAV you get a '26 comp 5th back anyway.

I love Rome but he needs to take away dad’s phone. 3 drops? Sounds about right if we’re only looking at Sundays game against the bengals.

James Odunze: you seem to be on social so maybe a slim chance you are reading this. STOP this social media posting negatively nonsense. You raised a great son and you are only setting him back. Be better than this.

Rizzy Rome dropped a TD pass and Kmet’s pass for a 1st down.

Let your play talk my guy.

Is this really a big deal? Rome can’t take away his dad’s phone, and as long as Rome has a good attitude, who cares?

LOL- Is this you James?

His tweets are obviously striking a nerve. Probably 7 of the last 10 posts have been about this. And the first post about it put it perfectly: it’s a bad look!

Who should care is Rome and his agent, as this nonsense is brand diminishing. And id bet that they will tell the dad to knock it off.

With what cap space? The Bears are up against it next year. They only have 2.8 mil in cap space for 2026. They don't get any cap savings from cutting Sweat or DJ unless it's post June 1st. Poles giving those awful contracts to Dayo and Jarrett have them cap strapped.

The same way every team in the NFL creates cap space out of thin air: find a player you are committed to long term and you turn their base salary into prorated restructure bonus. It will take ownership ponying up cash upfront, but its a $9B franchise and you cant trot out Sweat/Booker/Turner/nobody at DE and tell the fanbase you are trying to win.

I also suspect they move on from Kmet and Swift, and maybe Edmunds which would clear up 8.4M, 7.5M, and 15M respectively. All 3 of these players are nice to haves but not need to haves if the Bears are looking to free up cash.

Edit: also to clarify i still think they just sign KPassagno and find a DE next year, this a decision I still believe they make in the next offseason.

there is no reason to defer cap hits if you expect to be better going forward. and if the bears aren't better going forward that's terrible news. this team currently is a slight over on 8.5 wins and is nearly 3:1 against making the playoffs. can't expect the other team's starting QB to keep sitting

as for cap casualties in the offseason:

-keep edmunds 17.4 or cut 2.4 = goner
-keep kmet 11.6 or cut 3.2 = probable goner
-keep swift 8.8 or cut 1.3 = probable goner
-keep santos 3.8 or cut 1.1 = :dontknow:
-keep blackwell 2.6 or cut 0.4 = :dontknow:
-keep amen 2.6 or cut 0.4 = probable goner

week 9 PFF grades:

90 booker
77 byard

65 sweat
60 dexter/edmunds
57 CJ G-J
52 edwards
50 mccloud
49 jarrett
48 dayoh-no
43 wright

37 brisker
28 bad tyrique

94 darnell
91 his name is jonah
91 caleb

86 loveland
85 dalman

75 thuney/DJ
72 monangai

70 zaccheaus
66 theo
52 rome

if not for the standout performance of booker, the offense and defense color maps would be almost perfectly inverted. which makes sense if you consider that his strip sack at midfield might have prevented a loss

Can’t stop thinking of KM’s performance Sunday.

Can only remember Forte or Neal Anderson having a performance like that. Sweetness don’t count because he’s the Bears GOAT.

If KM is this dude we have a completely different offense. Kinda changes the season quite a bit.

I agree it’s a bad look, but I think it’s a bigger deal to fans than the Bears.

Rome can tell his dad to be quiet, but not all dads listen to children. His dad clearly has ego issues and will probably say, “I brought you into this world and wiped your butt when you were a baby. I’m just defending you. I worked hard to provide for you and raise you so you could have the life you do. You can’t tell me what to do.”

Do you think Belicheck’s kids want him to date a 24 year old?

As long as Rome has a good attitude, I think this is a nothing burger. We all have crazy relatives, and we can’t judge Rome for what his dad does.

Idk if op anyone has brought it up yet, but I’d like to give wright some praise. He has been phenomenal since like week 3. He’s been unlocked and has played like a top 5ish OT. he hasn’t been making the dumb mistakes and now he’s flourishing

I just and to father odunze profile, and he’s been tweeting nonsense since last season. Apparently, Rome would have had 1500 yards on any other nfc north team last year. Does he grasp how insane 1500 yards in a season is

Just watched a clip from espn Chicago.they meant that according to jay glazer, the bears have been one of the most aggressive teams. Courtney Cronin replied to that saying she thinks they are more likely to stand pat than anything.
