Re: 2025 Miami Heat Regular Season Thread
The perimeter defense by the Heat as a team especially Wiggins and Mitchell was top notch. If it wasn't for Harden hitting a couple of tough threes the game was over at 2 mins. Having Mitchell and Wiggins taking on the defensive switch gave Bam energy to focus on the offensive end.

I feel our team is still missing a bit more toughness and defense on the wing. Especially off the bench.
Would love to see the Heat try to swing a deal to get Caleb Martin back. Still young, cheap, can hit the 3. I think he’d do great in this offense.

They are definitely weapons. When we get Herro back and can build a chemistry between he, Powell, and Bam, with those two guys locking down on the perimeter and Bam locking down everywhere, we're going to be dangerous. It's apparent right now that Pelle is going to sit and Herro will take his place, and then we'll be impossible to defend. We have one offensive liability in Mitchell and he's so fast and has such great court vision (I can't believe I said that, but it's true) and is enough of a threat on offense, while every part seems to move and flow in a rhythm yet somehow unpredictably, that their is no ability to sag off and play 4 on 5 like teams always used to do on us... Sometimes it was 3 on 5. It was ridiculous!
But this team is constructed differently and I love it. I haven't had this much fun with a team that wasn't supposed to win it all since the Lamar Odom rookie Wade team...

If Rozier contract is relieved from the Heat a player I would like to go after is Khris Middleton.

Maybe the bench mob is just his calling, idk. Kind of disappointing that we made a bench player untouchable for KD if so, especially seeing the start we’ve had. Time will tell. Nice to see him bounce back regardless

In 8 years, when Ware is in his prime and KD has been retired for 6 years without another ring, we'll be very happy we didn't make that trade. He wouldn't have won one with us, either...

Re: 2025 Miami Heat Regular Season Thread
Adebayo has a great season so far, he is in a great shape and has been better in offense this year.
The entire group is very competitive and playing great in both sides of the floor.
The difference this year is the addition of 2 way players.
Powel, Fontecchio, Dru Smith.
Additionally Ware is better and Jaquez is better this year.
Wiggins is in great shape this year.
His skillset is also better, he worked in his dribbling ability and it is obvious. He surpases defenders without screens.
But he has not found full rhythm in offense until now.
I think sooner or later we will see a better Wiggins in offense

Even thou his shot making has been inconsistent but I think its related to his weak passing. I am surprised how he doesn't see the floor well and doesn't know how to position himself in better position to pass out. Teams are collapsing in him make his shots tough and he is not passing well to make teams pay for collapsing.vagelis wrote:Adebayo has a great season so far, he is in a great shape and has been better in offense this year.

Wiggins didn't start well but he is in great shape.
Spoelstra said what I also believe. That he will find confidence as the season goes on.
Adebayo and Wiggins are competitive 2 way players who can guard 1-5.
This is huge for a team.
If Herro finds rhythm and improves his defense this Miami team can go very deep in playoffs

He does not pass a lot because he has few touches until now (40 touches pg while had 48 tpg the previous season)
When he finds his rhythm he will take the ball more and he will pass more.
His shot is inconsistent until now, but he never had a 29 3pt% in his career. He is a better shooter than this.
The previous year in his first games with Miami he shot 10 3pt% but he ended up with 36%.
And he had 40 % 3pt shooting seasons with Warriors.
So, the sample is small until now.

No I am not talking about him passing a lot. He is not see the open man when he has the ball. He is attacking the rim and the defense collapse on him and he tries to force a tough shot and instead of hitting the open man. However with the touch he does have he has the opportunity to be closer to 4 assist a game, not 1.8 asst.
If his passing was better, his scoring would improve because teams wouldnt collapse on him so hard.

He is a scorer and he has to score some baskets even with the few touches he has until now.
He is not an egoist and seeks always the open man.
But he has to score some baskets too.
On the other hand, I have seen so many times that he is open and his teammates do not pass to him (Especially Powel).
But I cannot blame anyone, he has to gain it.
It is a new team with a lot of talent and everyone wants to score the ball.

This has drove me nuts with Wiggins, he definitely hit some very big shots last night to make up for it though. Who knows, maybe they wouldn’t have been necessary if he didn’t force things not the open man though. He has definitely picked up his defensive intensity since last year so I’m happy about that

Rougher scoring game for Jaime last night but he’s done a great job of finishing at the rim this season

So, hes basically a 10% better version of Butler. Man, we won that trade.
