Exactly. A performance like that may have only been possible because it was against the league’s worst run defense. KM showed some insane power, but until he can replicate this performance against an average NFL run defense, it would be dangerous to assume that he is everything that he’s as legit as he looked. He’s still just our 7th round pick rookie. There was a LOT to love but realistically, KM will need to improve that burst to become an every down starting RB. I bet no one thought he was just an improved burst away from becoming a team’s legit #1 option at RB when we drafted him.
It was actually the 2nd-worst run defense in the NFL before Cincy played the Bears. You know who was the worst? The NY Giants. Who do the Bears play this week?
It will be interesting to see whether Swift can go this week or whether we get another heavy dose of Monangai.
Shoot, the NFL’s worst run defense is what we face this week? I would rather let Swift sit and get healthy brother. We know what we have in Swift. I want to get a good look at KM, who is our high upside mystery kid at this point. And if he does well again, we might have a legit Swift vs KM battle brewing on our hands. Damn, I never thought I would ever say that.

Re: Bears thread 13
Swapping a 6th for a 7th for a guy who was a 1st round pick seems like a good trade to me, and is the middle ground trade I wanted to see the team make.
I didn’t want us to trade a 1st and a 2nd for a guy that we had to give a huge contract for.
I didn’t want us to stand pat.
Now I’d like to see another deal like this for our secondary. A move that can make us more competitive this year without mortgaging our future.

A warm body. That's all the Bears can afford. Former first round pick of the Bucs. Has one fewer sack this season than Dayo and the same number as a dead man.

I think Brian Burns would be a big upgrade.

I don’t think we’re making any more moves for DE. Sounds like the FO wasn’t in play for a major move anyway. My guess is they wanted to replace depth and see what booker looks like as a starter.
If think if they make another move it’s for a CB. And not necessarily via trade.

Quinnen Williams to the cowboys for 2025 2nd and 206 1st. I’m getting major fomo. But that was probably way out of the price range that poles is comfortable spending at the moment.
If we do want to make another move at DE, I’m guessing Jermaine Johnson is also available. I would assume his value is comparable to Phillips. I’d do a 3rd for him, even after the browns trade

Can only remember Forte or Neal Anderson having a performance like that. Sweetness don’t count because he’s the Bears GOAT.
If KM is this dude we have a completely different offense. Kinda changes the season quite a bit.
He reminds me alot of 2001 Anthony Thomas. Same type of beast RB that seemingly gets 5 yards every time just from pure muscle power runs. Now why A-Train fell off a cliff after that year, i have no idea.

She’s not been being the typical sideline reporter staying in a conservative lane fwiw. At least with the Bears, she’s being provocative. It’s not a bad question, just a little intentionally awkward in her choice of interview direction.
