He really lacks support skills and is better suited to be a star, but isn’t good enough to fulfill the role. Even if he was good enough, he isn’t mature enough or reliable enough to burden the responsibility.
I think he’d be a good fit for a bad team looking to put butts in the seat while tanking
PHX, Brooklyn, UT, SAC, NO, WAS
Good list. I'd say PHX, NO and SAC are the best choices.
WAS is from the Presti school so they would say no. UT and Brooklyn probably say no as they must be hoping for luck in the lotto this year.
Wondering if TOR for Quickly and stuff, Hornets for Ball, Hawks for Tre Young, or Wolves could have any interest. They have expensive players and are weak at PG or maybe could just use a change.
Tankathon is my 2nd home!

He definitely does not have negative value, his trade value is still there, no need for exaggeration. Thing is, most teams do not need PG, only PHO and ORL need one I would imagine, and Orlando also needs shooting more than anything, and Ja is not a shooter. I do not think there is a trade where MEM get fair value in return, if Ja really quits on them, they will have to take one of those deals anyway, but if not, they are not trading him.
I have to disagree. You have a injury prone PG with off the court issues, bad attitude, lack of leadership, making star player level money that can't shoot, can't play defense, and looks like his athleticism is already declining in his mid 20s. I don't think many teams are chomping at the bit to trade assets for that
Sorry for late response, but nah man, you are tripping. Look, I myself called Ja a bum few days back, but in all reality, when hes playing and his mind in the game, he is star player. And I know I am playing ''when'' game, but I do not think he is lost cause at all, and he is not Lamelo, when he plays, he wins games. You make it sound like he is some kind of garbage player getting payed 40 million, its Ja Morant, hes good. Memphis will be low balled, but they are getting assets in return. They need to match money, so I imagine in any trade MEM makes, they actually taking back worse contracts in return, so they will have to be compensated.
If you asked NBA teams would they rather have Ja or nothing at all, you think they would rather have nothing? All of them would take Ja, he is not negative asset. Someone like PG13 is, teams would rather have nothing than him, Ja is definitely not in that ball park right now.

This is a good chance to buy low on him, but there's a good reason why people aren't wanting to give up a lot for him.

the wiz would offer anything the griz want and would again be invested in a small guard with all star talent and the worse possible on court character possible for the team leader. I hope the wiz don't want ja cause this is Gil and Wall all over again... can't win with these guys,.,..,not chips

Worked out a trade between Memphis, Cleveland and Orlando.
Memphis sends Morant
Memphis receives Garland
A sometimes allstar who has been on winning teams to lead Memphis.
Cleveland sends Garland, Strus
Cleveland receives Suggs, Isaac, and Howard
Suggs can take over the defensive player and free up Mitchell to not expend so much energy. Isaac gives a backup for Forward and center.
Orlando sends Suggs, Isaac, Howard
Orlando receives Morant
Orlando has to send some value but they get a PG to play besides Bane (and they can play together). Orlando gets rid of Isaac.

I dunno. I'd consider something like Grant and Rupert for kicking the tires on him. There's no question a healthy, motivated Morant isn't an elite player. And sometimes players just need a change of environment to lock in, especially when it's forced on them. Zach Randolph was a great example of this. Me-bo in Portland in New York, then peak Z-Bo in Memphis.
But it is kind of telling when the most I would offer from Portland's standpoint is Grant's bad contract and a second round developmental prospect. And only then because Grant's bad contract runs as long as Ja's.
Still, imagine pairing him with Sharpe if Ja came to play. Most electric group of athletic freaks that the league has ever seen... who also cannot make a middle school level jump shot.

Barret with 2 first round picks is pretty steep for Morant imo. Morant cant shoot, seems immature, and has had injury issues the last couple of seasons.

We'll take Aldama too. Y'all go right ahead and build off Giddey, JJJ and Edey. That's a winner right there.
You definitely do not speak for the majority of Bulls fans. Absolutely horrible idea.

So I'm supposed to believe Josh Giddey is that much better than Ja that he provides more value to a team than Ja + Aldama? Should it be Ja + Aldama + Edey? If you can make the salaries line up that's a fair trade for Josh Giddey right now?
Giddey as of right now and over the previous 30 games of last season has been playing like a top 20 player. Then on top of that he's only 23 and has led the Bulls to a 5-1 record. Ja otoh, is playing terrible so far and only played in 59 games the last two seasons combined. On top of all the other stuff which is the main reason why Memphis might be trying to unload him. Aldama doesn't really move the needle much. He's just a guy. My point is the Bulls as of right now might be a top 4-5 seed in the east. With Ja+Aldama I think they're more like .500. Chi should keep Giddey.
"As of right now" is doing a lot of lifting for you my guy.
Right now is what matters. Giddey is younger, better, not injury prone and not a headcase team cancer. I see you value flash over substance.

I'm just giving my opinion. Which is that Ja is a 26 year old who if anything is trending downward. Giddey is a 23 yr old who may already be top 20 and is trending upward. It's not a very hard choice to me. On top of Ja doing stuff like telling off his coach. Not like I care either way if the Bulls want to make themselves worse(I'd prefer it).
They definitely do not speak for the majority of Bulls fans.

Still want to do that trade after tonight's game?
Yep. Buy low sell high. You'd rather trade when Giddey comes back down to Earth?
You have been waiting for Giddey to come back to Earth since last season. How is that working out for you?

Ja's issue is not motivation. He simply is not as talented as people believe. He is heavily reliant on his athleticism because he cannot shoot. As a playmaker his vision is merely average. And his defense is not good. And not a great rebounder either. Basically Westbrook with a worse motor
Once the injuries started piling up, he lost his only advantage on the court.

He's perfectly rated. He's playing like utter horse **** and has pretty clearly stopped trying.
He's pulling old Vince Carter and Carmelo Anthony garbage when they were trying to get out of their situations in Toronto and Denver respectively... but Ja has even less to show for his career than those two did. Ja has won ONE playoff series and that's it. What made him electric was his athleticism and dunks, but injuries have slowed his athleticism and he said he's not going to dunk anymore because of his hip injury. So he's not trying, he's pouting, he's an absolute knucklehead off the court, injuries are starting to rob his athleticism and he's never once ever tried working on other aspects of his game so he has nothing else to lean on like an improved outside shot.
His value is in the toilet so you're getting what you pay for when buying low. I believe someone would still absolutely trade for him, but I suspect his trade value tops out at like 2 First Round Picks and then the salary fillers to get the deal done. He's not a winning player and any team that trades for him will not be a winning team - it'll be a desperate team looking for a quick sales boost from their fans.
I still think Ja has the Pelicans written all freaking over him. Murray, Bey and then their 27 and 29 First Round Picks for Ja.
Get ready to learn Chinese buddy... #YangBang
