I was hoping Green Bay would add a run stuffing DL. A starting CB or TE likely costs a day 2 pick at minimum so I get why that didnt happen. And no run stuffers went for cheap so who knows if any were even available, but I am very much worried good running teams will make us pay when it counts

Yeah, they tried and when you already traded away two future firsts it's tough to let go of more picks. I could be wrong but I am guessing they tried to find a guy they could get for cheap (i.e. Mayer) and the other teams asking price was too high.

I really didn't expect us to do much. We have roster holes just like everyone else, and just because this was a more exciting deadline than usual, I don't think it's important to be getting in a mid-season arms race as much as it is in a sport like the NBA. The Kraft injury sucks, but this team is still in a great spot if the offense can finally unleash its potential.

I think they will keep their eyes open for a run stuffing DT in the waiver wire. Dallas with the Quinnen Williams trade has a ton of DTs, they will have to let someone go. We'll see.

So we shouldn't replace Kraft with another tight end? Regardless of the opinion on Musgrave they were always going to add someone via trade or street FA. The fact they didn't made a trade suggests they DO have faith in him. Is he equal to Kraft? Of course not. Few TE are.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I read on CBS sports that Dallas also sent DT Mazi Smith to the Jets, along with the picks. That's the only place I've seen that nugget though

Musgrave is going to have some big games as a receiver, but he can't break a tackle to save his life (how has he never learned how to stiff-arm?) which kills a lot of his usefulness at that position along with his subpar blocking.

Assuming his health checks out, I'm all for giving him a chance. Can't be worse than Hobbs.

https://sumersports.com/players/quarterback/

Can't repeat this enough. Jordan Love is #1 in EPA per play, and #1 in Pass EPA (by a comically large margin). He's literally the best in football right now at.....throwing the football. I've never been this critical of LaFleur at any point in the last 7-years. Dude needs to pull his head out of his ass and let the guy you literally paid franchise QB money.....be the franchise QB.

Assante Samuel Jr to visit Carolina, Minnesota, and GB
https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/green-bay-packers-news/74023/asante-samuel-jr-to-visit-packers-2-others

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz broke the news that Samuel’s first visit will be with the Carolina Panthers, the team that just beat the Packers. After his visit to Carolina, though, he will take trips to visit the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, if he doesn’t sign with the Panthers immediately.

Damn, being the 1st one in these visits helps a lot...

And visiting GB in November probably isn't a key selling point.

Looking like Reed could be back for Thanksgiving in Detroit or the following week against Chicago.

More visits for Samuel. Don't like our chances.

Don't even let him get to Minny if he checks out. Offer him a deal both to try to strengthen our biggest weakness, and to prevent 2 other teams in our division from signing him.

Return to Green Bay Packers
