I have soured on HOU as a destination for Ja. It does check some boxes on the surface. HOU lost its starting PG and has tons of assets to deploy in potential trades. But a Ja-Amen backcourt lacks shooting. Other posters have pointed this out, and I agree. Those two guys don't fit together. Reed is actually a much better pairing with Amen, but for whatever reason, HOU is not giving him minutes. Why?

After all the dumb things Ja has done to derail his career you would think he would do anything possible not to create more controversy...but here we are. Ja could have easily addressed this internally but he chose to go create conflict in front of the media, such a dumb move.

And why would teams now risk going for Ja...he'll be 27 soon, his game relies significantly on explosiveness, he's injury prone, and he's far less aggressive as a player compared to his electric early years. All signs point him to declining rapidly like Rose and Griffin, than being able to extend his career.

Charlotte doesn't need Ja. He and LaMelo would be a mess.

Washington... maybe. But Ja is following the Wall career path right now. His athleticism is fading the way Wall's did. I don't know why they would want a non-3pt shooting PG who doesn't play defense and has his one premier skill of his athleticism is fading.

The only teams I see that would actually be motivated for Ja is New Orleans or Sacramento.

It’s like I feared and it’s confirmed: Ja’s checked out. And this isn’t just a Grizzlies thing. He’s now clearly at the point where a lot of athletes get to where he despises all media. But where athletes like KD, Lynch, Bonds and others still wanted to compete and be the best it looks unfortunately like Ja may be headed towards “this is a paycheck” phase. Have a feeling one day he’ll give an interview(with an athlete of course)and say everybody had it out for him after the off the court stuff and he never had a chance and they ruined him.

Yup, he's pulling the Jimmy Butler maneuver. His "joy" is fading, and it's all his teams fault! Oh no!

I honestly thought he was on his way to being a perennial contender for the next 5 and that he would be one of the faces of the league. Him and Zion are blowing it big time, it's like a competition between the two. I never thought LeBron and KD would still be in better places than these two in 2025, given KD started around 09, and Ja and Zion are from a class a decade later. Keeping it real went wrong.
