Funny you mention that because Ayton has averaged 21 ppg in the 4 games he has played without Luka

It might be the team environment and coaching staff that is saving Ayton's career

JJ Redick probably knows player personalities than most coaches and knew what he was getting with Ayton, so he's trying to maximize him

My first thought as well

I remember I heard/read a wild rumor that Riley told him not to sign the extension until after the divorce was finalized.

Now why would you go and do all that. Im trying to fck with meLo and here you come to protect him. Smfh.

Jk, I did happen to catch the Portland game, when Luka was out, and ayton was ballin.

Talent was always there it was the motor and consistency that was always questionable. We will see if he sustains it.

I don't think the motor and consistency will ever totally be there for Ayton. However, when he does eventually crumble under pressure, they have Jaxson Hayes in a much more ideal role of back-up center rather than asking him to be a starting center.

I also think playing with a great is going to make it easier for him to stay engaged. Work is a lot more enjoyable when your coworkers make it easier and playing with Luka is going to make aytons work load a lot simpler and get him PAID.

Also as you mentioned Redick seems like a really great coach. He landed in the perfect spot.

The Suns fans must be wondering what the heck is going on after dealing Durant along with maybe the second best player in the trade for two guys who don't play. That's the best offer they had? Wow, that franchise is a mess since the new owner came in.

True. Also wild to me that the Kings are under .500 with Westbrick, Rosen, Schröder, Sabonis, and Levine.

That's a group of players I wouldn't put together in my wildest dreams. Who does the dirty work?

Westbrook for sure, because humbly speaking, he is the best rebounding guard ever

Not surprising to me at all. We've seen this formula with this group of players before.

Also the Kings GM is Scott Perry. He gave his whole spiel about creating a winning culture with the Kings this time too, except it should be blatantly obvious from his Knicks days that he doesn't know what winning culture is.
