No one is trading for Leonard under the current circumstances. The NBA would probably decline to approve the trade. Harden tops out at slightly positive salary filler. The Clippers would have to take back a bad contract to get notable value. Maybe a Ja trade is possible if the Grizzlies hate the other offers.
Zubac is their only real trade asset.

Just work toward new ownership. They have been a disaster since day one.

Re: So...When Will Clippers Blow It Up?
Definitely time to blow it up. This old bunch of guys are too old and too wealthy to care about basketball at this stage of their careers. Get Kawhi healthy and move him if possible. Love Harden, but he wants out after Kawhi, grant him that wish. We have a beautiful state-of-the-art Starship Enterprise of an arena, but are playing fossils and an ugly brand of basketball inside of it.
I want to see players on the team stay healthy, play well and win games, but at the same a lot of us aren't invested in hopes of Beal, CP3, Brook Lopez, Batum, etc. get their legs back, get healthy, and hope they show flashes of the players they were 4-5 years ago. We invested so much into the 213 Era to the point where I just want to be entertained and watch some fun basketball, playoffs or no playoffs. Cam Christie looks way better than Bradley Beal right now, but true to our M.O. we gotta go through the "Beal Experiment" because that's what the Clippers do. These washed vets just bring on a whole set of problems and issues that we could care less about and don't even need in this new era of basketball.
Move Kawhi and Harden if he wants out. I take it we'd keep Zu, Collins, Dunn, DDJ. Play Cam Christie, Yanic, Kobe Sanders, get Cam Whitmore when Washington dumps him, convert CP3 to the coaching staff, and go from there. Battle it out for the last play in spot or miss the playoffs altogether. Its just time to move on, cut out the "name chasing washed vets", and become a real franchise. If Lue wants out, let him go. Enough already. Our "win now mode" in reality is "first round exit mode."

I don’t see this happening, but they should. And the sooner the better. With the easy wide open I’m positive a team would make a move for one of those guys if all it meant was a pick.
I disagree. The thing is they're the most all-in on right now old team in the league. So if they wanna get rid of their old guys, there's not a better place for them to go. I think they have to ride it out at least until they know they're missing the playoffs. Also, they do have room to improve. They just need to tighten up their rotation and make sure the guys that can still go somewhat get the minutes.
For starters, I know it's only been a few games and they signed him recently, but Bradley Beal is not an NBA player any more. You can't play a guy that single-handedly destroys your defense when he's also terrible on offense. It was an experiment and it failed. Like you can give it more time if you want, but the results will be the same. He's been declining sharply for several years now, and his days of providing value are over. They got rid of Russell Westbrook 2 years ago for addition by subtraction, and he's light years better than Beal right now. If that doesn't fix things in a few games, put another one of these underperforming vets on the chopping block. They have a lot of moves before just going fire sale, especially since the rewards will be so scanty.

Re: So...When Will Clippers Blow It Up?
Blowing it up has to have a purpose. Clippers aren't going to just get good draft picks for their guys, because the teams that would possibly want them would not be lottery teams. In addition, they don't want to be taking back big contracts that are longer than two years.
Currently the Clippers first round draft picks look like this:
2026 - to OKC or WAS
2027 - OKC can swap
2028 - to Philly
2029 - Philly can swap
So they start controlling their first round draft picks again in 2030. They will still get two first round draft picks, but 2027 is almost assured to be OKC, and 2029 one can't know right now what Philly or the Clippers will look like anyways, but Philly has some good young guys.
So they can't just blow it up willy nilly, they can look around at what teams are offering trades and if it might make sense for recovering some good first round picks, but that would assume the team you trade whatever player it is to doesn't get better.

If Clips blow it up I think they could sell
Kawhi to Miami for Tyler Herro + picks
Harden to Houston for Vanvleet, Sheppard + picks
If Beal opts in (which is 50/50) you can sell him for a protected 1st.
Zubac I think you keep simply as a culture guy. He's not a guy teams are exactly fiending for. His value is in the west as a plus big that can be a joker stopper. I think he has more value to the Clips than they would get back in a trade.

My first thought is what is the singer of Nine Inch Nails doing managing a NBA team? Hahaha didn't he make enough money off the royalties for Old Town Road? lolChuck Everett wrote:HMFFL wrote:Tyronn Lue has a 59% win percentage. Trent Redden should receive some criticism for putting this team together. He can fix the problem since he's the GM.
Brook Lopez has been cooked but the fans saying it now didn't seem to care when Giannis had him as his starting center.
Lawrence Frank is the head of basketball operations, not Trent Redden. If anyone is at fault, it's him.
Turns out I read the last name wrong

If you could get one decent pick for both Kawhi and Harden you wouldn’t make the move?
I mean there isn’t a ton of downside of staying the course either. I just think Kawhi and Harden could still get some value versus a team like Philly trying to move Embiid or PG where they would have to pay to move them. I could see Detroit, Orlando, or a team like that wanting a Harden type player to help take them up a notch offensively.

Blow what up? The only positive asset is Zubac and maybe Derrick Jones, Jr.
"Kill 'em with Grindness."
