I don't want him anywhere near the kings. He may be talented on the court but he keeps getting in his own way.

But does Vivek want him near (on) the Kings?....

Do they wait till December to send Schroeder instead of Monk?
I think Demar would fit ok in Memphis as they have plenty of willing 3pt shooters.

Beyond all of the off-court baggage, he's declined quite a bit since 2023.

Re: King Ja
People need to stop talking about what Ja WAS or MIGHT BE.
The FACTS as of this moment are that he is a potential implosion of your roster and your team as a gun toting, wanna be gangsta tough guy head case who also now shows perennial injury issues (or fake ones) who is going to want serious money very soon.
It’s ludicrous to think that any picks are being included and anything more than useful vets as salary filler for him.
A deal like Butler fetched from the Dubs last year would be about right IF he was that impactful and didn’t have his head firmly up his A$$!
But the latest idiocy shows his continuing immaturity and mental health issues and handing over real assets for a ticking time bomb who you want to be your franchise guy is just foolish.
I’m not in any way interested in having Ja anywhere near the Kings.

Kings should jump at that then try and work a Zion trade centered around Sabonis + picks
Ja/Schroder/Westbrook
Lavine/Ellis
Keegan/Clifford
Zion/Achiuwa
Eubanks/ Maxime
Could look to flip a Schroder or Westbrook for a center.
Team could be electric or an absolute dumpster fire, but its worst the shot

Not crazy to suggest the same is true with Morant.
I think OP probably is about right on value and about right on team maybe desperate enough.
Ja comes with a lot. Many teams wouldn't take him at all I would think.

Ja is his own worst enemy and that doesn't seem like a trait he is working on changing. He is so incredibly talented and their should be a bidding war for him, but his continual attitude issues and off the court drama has made his market very small.

How does an undersized sg with out a reliable 3pt shot help an nba team win?
I suppose it's fun to pile on Ja and call him and undersized SG, but he's averaged over 7 assists per game over his whole career...he's an electrifying modern Lead Guard with some obvious flaws in his game and his personal decision-making. But, at his lowest - which is NOW, he's still worth much much more than Monk and Derozan...he may blow up the next franchise who takes a swing (SAC is always a volatile place to begin with), but he's worth more than this...what does this do for MEM?
Kyrie is a good comp...he was an unbelievable personality risk coming into DAL, especially to join the most ball-dominant player in the league in Luka, but he was awesome. Kyrie is an MVP-level talent, skills-wise, but his team-destroying history, age, and now his injury history put him a few steps below Ja's value level, imo.
Ja's a risk, for sure, but some team with a strong locker room and strong vet leadership might really strike gold by betting on him.

Vivek Ranadive doesn't understand basketball and only cares about putting names on the arena that he thinks will let him drastically increase ticket prices. I'm sure he has offered wayyyyyyy more than this for Ja Morant.

How can somebody be a lead guard if they can't shoot the 3 and the other team can go under ever screen in the screen roll?
Ja is a career 31% from 3pt land. This year he is shooting 14% from deep on 5 attempts per game. That is enough to put your whole team in the tank.
His true shooting percentage has always been league averagish. He isn't good on defense. If you take away being able to jump really high what does he have that is even special.
Oh and he makes 40 mil per year for the next three years.

Not ideal for a Lead Guard/PG...but not shooting well doesn't exactly scream SHOOTING guard.

LMFAO!!!!!
What a homer post! Ja is not anywhere NEAR the class of Kyrie - and I really have NEVER been a Kyrie fan!
Ja is just getting a more expensive one inch taller and slightly slower version of Fox back. Why would Sac do that? And adding the fact that he is blatantly arrogant and full of himself and cannot get out of his own way in all aspects? Has picked up a scary tendency to be injured and now adds conflict with his Coach to the crazy basket!
No thanks. Not unless it’s virtually a no brainer free shot for junk would I want him anywhere near the Kings. The risks are a thousand times more than the very slim possibility of reward.

homer?
the point was that Kyrie was as big a homewrecker as anyone in NBA history...but it really worked out in DAL because he showed he's not a full-time a-hole
