Analyzed some highlights. Maxey relies a lot on screens and a lack of help defense. If we have two rim protectors in Barnes and Poeltl and a good POA defender with length like Mogbo / Agbaji we should be able to take care of business here.

We barely played several of our POA defenders. It shouldn't be a problem if Darko gets that. The easiest way to deal with him with to put Mogbo on him and have several help defenders like Barnes and CMB ready.
Poeltl - Embiid
CMB - Walker
Barnes - Oubre
Ingram - Edgecombe
Mogbo - Maxey
I'd heavily play Mogbo and Ochai/Walter while holding out Dick this game. We can't allow any defensive collapses on the perimeter. If Maxey gets going we won't be able to stop him.
I'd keep the minutes easy on Ingram and IQ unless there's insane offence coming from either or.
Mogbo on Maxey? No PG? Did u forget Shead? What about RJ on Oubre? We need his scoring, it's not like Oubre will drop 30 on us, just stay in front the best he can.

My hot take is we win this clearly if we are still in the game (<10 deficit or better) by the mid third Q. We will probably outplay them in the 4th. We have a lot of young legs that spares the starters energy and minutes.

Mogbo is statistically the best POA defender we have. He has switchable hips and the length to keep things tight on switches that result from screens. The keys to the game would be to force him to drive and not allowing any 3s. This will be a good test for our perimeter and interior defense. We need to force Embiid to play 1 on 1 versus Yak or force their others to make things happen.
RJ will get his opportunity but I haven't loved his defense. It seems like when he hits a 3 or makes a play on offense he gets 'jazzed up' and gives it up immediately on the other end. We can't have defensive lapses like we did versus the Hawks early in the game yesterday.
I would establish a strong defense early to throw Maxey and Embiid off on offense. Then bring in shooters like Battle, IQ and RJ to build more space using their gravity. We would need Barnes and CMB to hit their spot up 3s but I think it's possible. Otherwise we should rely on transition offense and try to run Embiid off the floor.

4 game win streak stats:
ortg 118 (9th)
drtg 101.5 (1st)
net +16.5 (2nd)
reb% 51.3 (8th)
TS% 58.8 (16th)
pace 98.88 (29th)
we really slowed it down - 2nd slowest pace which explains the pts allowed. darko with a pretty huge defensive tweak and it's been successful so far.

That team won't score at all in my opinion. They won't need to double anyone on our team, except perhaps Ingram and they leave mogbo or cmb open for 3, Nick likes that style
. Maxey is too fast for Mogbo. CMB causes lots of turnovers when pressured, and they can leave him open at 3. I think you need a balance between scoring and defending.

I think they will defend him better than ever today. Its hard to slow down Maxey when Embiid is playing, when he's not, not as much.
But they can't put Quickly on him.
Im pretty sure embiid is playing and resting tomorrow

This is a scheduled loss but I'm hoping we can hit our threes and spark a miracle. If we can stop Maxey then we have a chance of keeping this close.

Putting them in a funk with 3 straight stops before bringing in a shooter for CMB would probably work. Since we don't have Poeltl I expect CMB to start.
CMB - Embiid
Barnes - Walker
Ingram - Oubre
Mogbo - Maxey
IQ - Edgecombe
This gives us the best chance. If CMB gets punked then bring in Mamu and get things going on the other end. Mogbo is definitely our best POA defender last year.

Philly's record is suspect. Really soft schedule.
