I think a lot of teams will regret passing on Will Richard. I watched him at UF and his defensive instincts are excellent. I was skeptical a little because of his size but didn't realize he was as long as he is. I'm still hoping he makes Moody available.

When are we going to stop pretending that Cooper Flagg is not Jayson Tatum (I never got that) and is more like a rich man's Tom Gugliotta? Or Andrei Kirilenko-ish. I actually think Flagg has the potential to be a much better all-around player than Tatum but those comps are a stretch.

Also, Kidd may not be the right guy for young Flagg.

These courts are probably my one gripe about this NBA cup the league is trying to do. Easily the tackiest part of it imo.

I like most courts but they need to run some more tests on these. That wolves court should not have passed whatever standards they have.

A dude who can be 3/4 Kirilenko on defense, and make shots (above average level) and run pick and roll (abive average) is an all star level guy who could fit in any team’s lineup. I think Flagg is going to hit those benchmarks.

You left out the Keith Van Horn comp.

2025 draft could turn out like the 1994 Big Dog draft where the guys right after him turn out better. Don’t know. That said, it’s been only nine games. Let’s see where he’s at in March. Dallas is a dumpster fire of an organization at the moment.

Unpopular opinion: I like the Twolves court
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Flagg is still just 18. You could see in college he still had a long way to go developing his offence. He has a high floor but the ceiling is very debatable.

Yeah, he dominated on both ends in college at age 17. That means that there is a very high ceiling in there. But in college he also benefited being in a good system with teammates who were usually better than his opponents. Now with Kyrie out he’s playing in a system with no PG and that system is Jason Kidd’s system.

That said, I hope Flagg looks like a bust for a couple years and Nico sells low on him then he breaks out. That franchise designs nothing but the worst luck going forward. I hope they become the new Wizards.

I got blasted for this on the general board, but I always saw Franz Wagner as a good comp for Wagner.

Super sized SF, easily can shift down to PF. Can hit the 3, but inconsistent with it, will probably fluctuate with percentages, good on defense despite not being the super explosive, just a big body with great instincts, can operate as a secondary playmaker, but you probably don’t want him being the main guy, offense as a whole might struggle a bit if he is. But like Wagner, has those flashes of stardom as a focal piece, but just not consistent with it. Like, Wagner has dominated for that German team, but could he do that for 82 games? Probably not.

Like, Wagner was a 24-5.5-4.5 guy last year. Like, that’s what I see Flagg being offensively long term. And Wagner on Orlando has been a part of elite team defenses, which doesn’t show up in box score. But I was laughed off by people saying g Flagg would be better than that, but I don’t see the chemistry on offense to take that step towards elite, as Wagner is already good on offense, didn’t really think it was an insult, but w/e.

Maybe a Jimmy Butler comp, but I like the Wagner comp, just the longer length, not many 6-9ish SFs who will likely add the bulk, most guys that length are thinner or at PF. Wagner is one of the few main SF guys with that rare size.

That's a lot of good things about Cooper Flagg, but his complete lack of quickness limits him, unless he can become more explosive. If he doesn't become more explosive, he'll end up too close to Danny Granger.

Chicago doing well in Cleveland off the b2b. In a close one with a couple minutes left.

…and they blow a 6 point lead with 1:30 left

Flagg has a motor. Granger... I don't remember that being his thing. At the very least he could be Shawn Marion.

Eau contraire... I think Kidd is perfect if they want to stick another top 5 prospect next to Flagg. And I'm sure Kidd will take all the credit for his development after he succeeds with his next coach.

I think the fairest but harshest comp to Flagg might be an NBA version of Arch Manning. And here's what I mean by that, coming into this college football season the predominant conversation was around Arch Manning. He was the Heisman frontrunner, Texas was the preseason #1 team in the country and he was the odds-on favorite to be the #1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. And he's had his ups and downs, but I think its fair to say that he doesn't have the ceiling that a lot of people thought he did. Similarly, Flagg will have a very long NBA career and as much as he's struggled, I think a guy with his varied offensive skill set and motor has almost no bust potential (assuming he stays healthy). But I think the question of will he ever make an All-NBA team is a fair one

Flagg has a substantial amount of physical maturation to go through that will have him playing much better even as early as next season.
