I always thought this was inevitable given our click driven media landscape. Controversy plays regardless of how ridiculous.
And I loved Romes response. He clearly told his dad to tone it down. I’m kind of a sports dad lunatic, and can relate to James Odunze a bit. There are times, especially during games, where I lose my head and later regret how I showed up. It’s the putting stuff on social that was the mistake James made.

We're all drunk on the Wright coolaid, and deservedly so as he has exploded into All Pro team 1 or 2 territory come the off season. Having said that, I seem to recall reading somewhere that Poles mentioned he could probably learn & play LT just as well. Local reporters are also picking up on it and that would really be the perfect scenario coupled with drafting Trapilo.

Re: Bears thread 13
that's not a local reporter. that's just a guy on twitter.
i think there's basically no way of knowing whether wright moving to the left side would be a viable option until you try it. a lot of people default to "don't move a guy from where he's good!!", but plenty of outstanding linemen have switched sides without missing a step. i think the good news is wright is playing at a level where it doesn't feel like you'd be jeopardizing his development if you even tested it out, so if there's a need to give it a trial run next training camp, sure, why not.

Re: Bears thread 13
From Yahoo Sports- this is about fantasy football, but speaks to how people think Loveland will perform from here on out...
Colston Loveland, TE, Bears
vs. Giants
Loveland’s six-catch, 118-yard, two-touchdown breakout in Week 9 is the kind of performance you can’t put back in the box.
Even if Cole Kmet (concussion) is able to return this week, Loveland’s arrow is on the rise as a first-round talent who can excel as a pass-catcher and a blocker.
With several Bears’ receivers working their way through injuries, expect the rookie tight end to see plenty of volume against the Giants.
We’re at the beginning of Loveland’s ascension into fantasy stardom, but he’s a top-12 tight end in my rankings this week and for the rest of the season.

Gervon Dexter: 19 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks,
Jalen Carter: 15 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack. (2 less games though)

I don’t know what an Ozzy Trapilo is for at this point in time.

He was drafted as depth, and as insurance in case Braxton didn't recover. Right now, he's also serving as depth- he'll be the first guy up more than likely if either tackles gets hurt, although it's possible they may elect to go to Braxton if it's left tackle. But somehow I think they've seen enough from him.

Wright at LT, Trapillo at RT. Theo Benedict at swing tackle. Done. I am a big fan of Trapillo.

Braxton is on IR for at least another week. Good possibility that he was never fully recovered from his injury last year.

Not that I think it’s going to be very likely we do it, but I think it’s inevitable that rumors of burrow wanting out of cincy will com up and I think we should be prepared to offer Williams and a package of picks.

Burrow is pretty fragile and $ expensive. Williams is cheap for a couple more years. It’s not an easy decision. At this exact moment while the Bears offense is improving, I would not go much further than a Williams offer without the extras. As long as Caleb is developing at some perceptible rate instead stagnating, this is complicated. The decision basically comes down to whether or not BJ wants to continue to work with Caleb, and find a way to make it work. I’m pretty sure Burrow is a better “fit”. OTOH, Caleb’s potential improvement can make the advantages of a Burrow move a perhaps more expensive option than is worth doing. These are things that are not quite clear yet. The Bears offense is doing well enough ATM to put trading Caleb on hold. When it comes time to pay Caleb, Caleb’s price tag numbers can make these kind of decisions more clear

He may be healthy enough to be mediocre again at some point

I don’t think it’s a good idea. An example I can think of is Orlando brown. He had one good season moving to LT for an injury Ronnie Stanley while with the ravens. Since then he’s been terrible.
I guess it would be worth seeing how he can do, but it seems like a big ask

Swift didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for today, so we may see a lot more of Monangai.

Getting ready walk from my hotel to the game and I’m like oh crap because it’s so cold and windy. I hate Bear weather.
Edit: Went to Lou Canellis’ restaurant Avli Taverna On The Park last night. Beautiful restaurant and neighborhood and great food. I split a whole roasted sea bass filleted at my table with my son smothered in latho lemono sauce. Unreal good. Highly recommend.

To be fair, Orlando Brown, Jr was always inconsistent with his play.
I know the Bears love Trapillo but they should asked if Darnell wants to move to LT. If he does not want to move, then continue to develop Trapillo as a LT.
