Our coach sucks

Post#1 » by paulpuinhas » Sun Nov 9, 2025 11:40 am

When i see the loss we had in Philadelphia, i notice how stuborn our coach is. Why not playing Battle as he is a young guy and keep pushing with players that simply are not performing well? Walter was really bad, Dick is also strugling. Why is he being so stuborn? Im sick of his rotations :banghead:
Battle could have hand us the W we needed

Probably got a mandate from Bobby to play Dick/Ochai/Jakobe over Battle no matter what

He does. But front office wanted a yes man who would be indebted for the opportunity and not push back on any roster issues. In that aspect, he’s been great.

Coach sucks and doesn't rotate in guys that might have been better - every single NBA fanbase, every single year, and all know better, with the benefit of hindsight.

And whatever you do, don't play struggling guys, or young guys, destroy their confidence!

This is true.

We also don’t see practice. For all we know Walter looks awesome there and they’re hoping to see it translated. There is a reason we took him round 1 and Battle undrafted - there is levels to potential and Battles ceiling is lower (in the eyes of our team).

If JKW / Agbaji continue to suck, Battle will get in

I think Battle, at least early on, might be our secret weapon for the NBA Cup games.

As for this game, I think ochai started because he had the freshest legs, and without Jakob it was going to be a whirlwind anyway.

We lost a game to the best offense in the L, without our best big, on a road b2b, against a team that hadnt played since Wed, while putting up a good fight.

Im not sure how to evaluate coaching given we only see end results, but this loss is the least of the valid criticisms.

The rage over a Schedule Loss is amusing especially because these same people were probably saying the same thing before the game lol

you dont appreciate how good of a job darko has done with this limited roster.

Its a small grip to have with battle. Like others said, darko maybe asked to showcase them for a potential consolidation trade

Overreaction.

And I’m not a huge fan of Darko. But he’s done well to have us at 5-5 at ten games.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

I like Battle. And sorry for the analogy I just don't know another similar, but when a goalie gets a shutout in hockey, it should be a hard and fast rule he starts the next game. Backup shuts out anyone, he starts two in a row. That's just the rule.

Battle going 6/6 in 3's should have been the same. And they didn't play him as much vs. ATL as they might have. That game was that they really should have. But he didn't show in in limited minutes. That rule doesn't last all season.

I doubt Agbaji and JW just keep sucking. They have proven they can play well in this league, especially Agbaji, but that guy just can't seem to get over. I think they have decided they will move him, keep the 2 cheaper options, and he's going to have to fight for minutes until they need ot showcase him.

Any injury, minutes restriction, whatever and these guys see more minutes. Stay ready?

Agbaji started because they wanted to see if he could slow down Maxey.

Agbaji is a rhythm player, he's the opposite of a microwave type player. We aren't winning it all this year. The goal should be to increase asset value while being competitive and around 500. It'll give us more opportunity for trades down the road.

The rotation shouldn't be fixed. I'd give more minutes to Battle, CMB and Agbaji. Then play Ingram and Poeltl in the 25-30 minute range to keep them healthy.

The unrealistic but ideal line up would probably be:

CMB / Poeltl
Barnes / Mamu
Ingram / Agbaji
IQ / Battle
Shead / RJ

This would utilize our best line ups.

Don't worry, he'll be fired first if things turn mediocre for us. Funny because that's where we were headed until Battle saved us in Cleveland.

If we lost that game, it would have been rock bottom. Battle's reward for that? Enjoy the bench lol

It would have been rock bottom if we lost game 6 of the regular season?

Then Bobby should be fired as well.

The goal is to win, which means you play your best players no matter what.

Continuously playing Walter over Battle is sheer stupidity.

Swap Agbaji and Shead and I agree.

Starting IQ + Shead just makes it difficult to always have one on the floor, which we need to do.

I mean it isn’t that simple. The NBA is a balancing act
