Minny/Chi

Reid/Beringer for JSmith/CWhite/Port pick

Minny gets White to start with Edwards and JSmith as a back up big. They also get a pick

Bulls get Reid, who could start with Vuc and Matas up front
Beringer is a long term answer maybe at the C spot.

Bulls play bigger
Giddey/Jones
Okoro/Ayo
Matas/Huerter
Reid/PWill
Vuc/Collins/Beringer

that's a huge team

Wolves are high on Beringer. Take him out of trade. No need.

I think Minn passes on this. You’re trading their hopeful- future starting bigs (imo) for a guard that isn’t actually a great fit with Ant.

I think Reid for White/Filler is a fine deal.

Where's the sense for the Bulls? They get Reid, signed for the LONG term for plenty of money. And he's in MINN until 1/15. They add Beringer to be a twin to Essengue in size, age and time needed to develop. Yes it's only 9 games so it's silly but PORT is still in the lottery so that pick is still a fairy tale. OK Reid maybe does on defense but is he really going to do enough at the PF next to Vuc while Matas changes positions? In what rationalize the trade world is Okoro the Bulls' best option at SG? He's not going to come close to matching White or Jones as a a scorer

It’s an interesting way to attack the issue, but in my opinion, Tim Connelly hasn’t painted himself out of the corner yet, and making trades will be difficult because so many guys hold valuable roles that they can’t replace on the roster.

Despite being Ant’s buddy, I think Naz is the least critical of MIN’s three bigs. But MIN doesn’t have four. When Connelly traded for Gobert, Naz (and Luka Garza) didn’t see any minutes left for them at center with KAT and Rudy there, and both lost a lot of weight to be more mobile PFs. Unfortunately, MIN no longer has KAT or smallball Kyle Anderson, and Naz gets forced to play center when Rudy sits, when he no longer has the body for it. The Naz-Randle minutes are bad defensively. Unfortunately, MIN doesn’t have a third big on the roster (maybe Jaden out of position), and Finch doesn’t want to play Beringer. Is JSmith ready to be the third big? Who plays back up center with Naz gone?

I’m also concerned what CWhite is going to want on his next deal, and MIN is not a place that free agents want to go to.

I agree with the others on Beringer. MIN has drafted a lot of promising players over the years, but Beringer is one of the best, highest upside young players they’ve ever gotten. If you look at him as a throw in, exchanging him for Leonard Miller or Zikarski would make the deal more palatable. But right now, I doubt anyone is higher on Beringer than MIN.

I don’t see MN considering this. White is expiring and will be neutral value after his next deal. I’d much rather keep Naz and Beringer tbh and it’s not that close.

If the Portland pick had better protections that might be a different situation but the value just isn’t there.

For the Wolves I wouldn't include Beringer, that makes the deal a clear no. My second issue from Minnesota's perspective is White's next contract. If I thought White would re-sign for a deal similar to Naz it would be worth considering, but I don't have a lot of confidence in that outcome and White at a higher number just isn't worth it.

White isn't a starting point guard, which negates the whole premise. Wolves are giving up too much anyway.
