Leading the league in assists and rebounds while Denver so far leads the league in offense, is #2 in defense, and is posting the best offensive and defensive numbers of the Jokic era.

OP, you're overthinking this.

Denver's last 2 playoff runs have ended similarly, with Jokic being forced to generate every bit of offense, as defenses take away his teammates. It makes sense for the focus in Denver to be: how do we generate more offense with less dependancy on Jokic shooting possessions? That's why were seeing more shots from Gordon and Murray, and hopefully more from Cam Johnson once his shot comes back online. Jonas Valanciunas is allowing Jokic to rest more.

Since 1 assist leads to 2 (or more) points, that's actually improved offensive production. His rebounds are up too. And his TS% is up from .663 last year to .733 this year. His team is in 2nd-place in the West as expected.

Statistically, Jokic is actually having his best season ever. His PER is 35. His BPM is a preposterous 18.4. And his WS/48 is .420

What are we even talking about here?

We have a new Jokic thread every fortnight from people who never watched Denver. Can we pin this message in every new thread please?

9 games in the season:

The Nuggets are 7-2. Jokic is averaging 25 points while shooting a career high 64% from the field and almost 87% from the FT line. He is currently having the 6th highest FG average in the league, with the only other player in the top 20 that is scoring more or at least a similar amount of points being Giannis.

He is currently the first player in league history to simultaneously lead the league in rebounds per game and assists per game.

Threads on the general board: Joker is out of shape, has Joker given up mentally.

Can´t wait for the thread that explains me how Ivica Zubac is actually a more impactful player than him  .

This approach is much more like what bryant learned in 2007-11. creating for your teammates isnt the same as getting your teammates going. Allow aaron gordon to have confidence to go try to get 50. Let murray know early they need him. allow Cam Johnson to explore the different parts of the basket on his misses, maybe he hits them in may
I just checked and jokic has his lowest touches per game since 2020!!! thats a great sign for them. allowing his team to do what they can, so that when they need joker, it will be easier for him to do what the rest of the team cannot.

I wont lie, I havent watched a Nuggets game yet this year. But just some basic box score watching.

He leads the league in assists (by over 2 assists per game), and even after his 8 TOV game, he still isnt even top 10 in turnovers. He leads the league in rebounds, BPM, WS, TS% (for high volume scorers), and has a career high PER. Oh and he is just 13th in scoring. And his team (still with no true 2nd star) is 7-2.

If that is a guy who decided to come into the season "giving something up" or isnt all the way checked in. We're not even talking a top 10 guy, we're now in the discussion, is he the greatest player to ever play the game.

Because if this is no Jokic on cruise control, what is playoff Jokic going to look like this time around? 35/15/12?

God I wish we had a franchise player who could give up mentally and still be the best player in the league while doing it

Guys WS/48 through the first 9 games is .420 and OP is making threads about the Joker giving up?

I'm confused by this thread.

LOL RealGM Jinx Thread at its finest. Someone create a trade for my Grizzlies please; maybe we improve a little, maybe we don’t suck and/or maybe we even trade Ja ASAP.

I never read it, but somehow zero and1's for the OP feels appropriate.

I need a KD can't win it all without Curry and Udoka had to leave so Mazulla could take the C's to the next level thread!

Only 6 assists. Selfish fat serb doesn't care about his teammates. Probably trying to get traded to the lakers for Ayton. Don't forget he isn't even good enough to elevate his team mates to all stars.
