Kon is so darn good.

30 piece. He’s CHA’s best player already. By a wide margin.

How come few of us on this board saw something more instantly and wanted to draft a kid badly, but our scouts were eeeh, lets wait 2 more years with Noa, maybe he will became solid..

I loved Coward and wanted him but Noa was my #1 over Coward and CMB.

I never wanted Noa, actually liked Newell and Sorber. I still don't really want and like Noa, he seems so far way from being 2 years away, it is not funny. He is not even good enough for a few mpg.
Asa Newell and NOP pick sounds awesome right now.

I wanted Asa but I am content if dumars didn’t offer use what he gave Atlanta. Hawks screwed NO twice now

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Coward went before Noa, so we'll never know. It's also less than 10 games into their careers.

Kon scorred 30 points last night. He's surprised me so far.

Trenton Watford with 20pts, 17rbs, 10asts for the 76ers.

Kon is what Doug McDermott was supposed to be.

Crazy stat line.

I looked at the box scores today and see that Asa Newell had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. I haven't watched him play so I don't know how he's been overall, but I'm curious because of the New Orleans trade (or no trade in the Bulls case).

He was available last year I think as FA, many of us wanted him, but AKME was ignorant..

Doug is also why Bulls fans weren't much interested in Kon. Once burned, twice shy.

Not really close on upside.
Kon was a freshman. Doug was a Senior.
Kon was doing his thing in the ACC against the best competition. Doug was at Creighton before they joined the Big East and playing in the MVC against teams like Wichita State.
There was also a tweener problem, Doug did a lot of posting up in college and he couldn't be a PF in the league. Kon was keeping the same role from NCAA to NBA.

Just checking in; holy crap were the Knicks starters dominant tonight! Mitchell Robinson played just 17 minutes but was +40 on the night. I know game-to-game +/- is not the best way to evaluate a player, but that's freakin bonkers.

All good points, but the fact remains that among the remaining Duke prospects (everybody wanted Flagg first, of course), Bulls fans were considerably fonder of Maluach than of Kon.

Mitch is my kind of center -- until the playoffs happen. Hard to hide that FT shooting when the opposition no longer cares about being chivalrous.

Somewhat off-topic, but any other longtime Athletic subscribers here? I am quickly realizing I simply dislike the style of writing of the new Bulls beat writer, Joel Lorenzi. Several paragraphs from his most recent article about our offense had my head shaking with his attempts at clever prose muddling any ideas he was presenting. I could always sense Mayberry's Not-actually-a-Bulls-fan attitude, but he had many absolute banger articles over the years.

I was an English major, read online and physical content all the time, and haven't had such a consistent negative reaction to a professional published sports writer in a long time. I've read 100% of Bulls content since the site's inception, and will continue to. Hopefully it's just my early-onset winter malaise setting in, and I'll warm to Lorenzi's goofy-ass writing.

I just called up a couple of articles of his, after reading this note. My reaction is not as strong as yours, but yeah he tries too hard. In fairness to Joel, breathlessness is in fashion these days. It's a clickbait nation, with headlines constantly blaring that due to one guy playing well, or a team winning three straight, "everything has changed."

Short attention spans and all that.

Yeah, I think I'm just firmly into my Old Man Yells stage for generally everything. I also looked back at his other articles and agree with you; he seems to be going for quotable zingers in every paragraph he can. My favorite writers there - and they have had some absolutely incredible content over the years - have been the ones publishing longform narratives or deep dives into focused analysis.

On another note, it's been nice to read Greenberg show joy in his articles recently; like many suffering Chicago sports fans, he's been quite hostile to multiple poorly-run local franchises. It's been a winning Fall in Chicago for the most part, something well deserved.
