Julius Randle is playing like an all-star/all-NBA. Very encouraging start to the season from him and McDaniels.

Ja seems like he's pulling a Vince Carter to get traded. VC did the same thing to get out of Toronto.

The Nets looked horrible tonight. They look so lost.

You are like the tenth person to write that in a game thread this year.

All stats against BKN should be officially excised.

Don’t post in here often so I wouldn’t know.

They did it against the Wolves too. But point taken.

I mean, not ten. I was exaggerating for comedic effect. But let's say it's been a trend.

They looked so bad I'll just say it. Cam Thomas might be underrated, he wasn't playing in that one and they looked even so much crappier than they already were with him

He did this with the Knicks too. He will look very good to occasionally great (enough to merit all-nba 2nd or 3rd team consideration). But then comes the tunnel vision and occasional lapses in defensive effort that will drive any fan crazy. The iso ball spin move from the top of the key was so predictable, which led to turnovers and bad shots.

I will forever be grateful for his part in turning the Knicks back into a respectable franchise. However, I don’t think he’s good enough to be the number 2 guy for a team that wants to contend. But to be fair, the jury is still out on KAT as well.

For good reason. They are really awful. Maybe not Pistons 23 or Knicks 2019 awful, but pretty close.

Pretty sure the Nets are as awful as any team ever, like 73 Sixers or 12 Bobcats.

But… they’ll finish with a better winning percentage than either of those teams, because there are going to be at least ten, maybe twelve, tanking teams by the trade deadline. The draft is really juicy this year, and when both franchises are trying to lose, anything can happen.

But seriously though, this Nets team has almost no developed talent. Thomas may have a few white hot games that lead to wins against lesser teams, Claxton is decent enough. MPJ can obviously shoot, but there’s no cohesion, no defense, no belief they’re going to win. The wins they get, all but one or two weird nights, are going to be against other injured or tanking teams. Their preseason O/U was 19.5 (20.5 from some sources). Seemed like an easy under bet to me, although there’s a risk of a bunch of meaningless wins in the last 30 game tank-off.

If someone was hurting the tank, Marks would trade him. They are giving Jordi a roster no coach can win with, because with a few different pieces he would be trying to squeeze out meaningless wins.

The Nets need that top 4 pick.

I understand benefits of tanking and all that, but I also wonder what these 5 rookies on the Nets will even learn, being on that team. You need some kind of competence and leadership even during tanking period.

It was really impressive how the refs held the Grizz to 38 pts in the second half.

Grizz played terrible but the free throw discrepancy in third tells a story.

I think the fact that Memphis only made 12 FGs in the last 24 minutes is what tells the story.

Again both things can be true but actually have watched the full game. The Thunder are able to defend with a different set of rules while Shai offensively is given extreme benefit.

I guess that explains Memphis' 14 straight losses to the Thunder. Hopefully the NBA refs quit conspiring against them.

Two things:

1. Sengun has good handles for a big.

2. Giannis is a better "help defender" than he is a one-on-one defender.

I wonder how committed they are to all 5 rookies. They probably tried to trade those pick and will probably try to trade them.

Are they all getting regular minutes?

If they get a star in the next couple of drafts — 2026 is suppose to be a great draft class — couple of these 2025 rookies will be even more buried, maybe eventually cut even before reaching RFA.

It's hard to be as bad as Ja has been the past few games. He was OKC's best player last night. Was difficult to watch.

Sarah was their starting PG at first I beleive, but now doesn't play, instead they start Demin (DIomin) now. Traore and Wolf barely played, I can not recall who is their 5th. rookie. None of them really stood out at all, but we knew Demin is a huge project and other guys even more so probably.

I think people were getting a little crazy with VJ after his hot start

Some people were saying he’s gonna be a generational player who will win titles as the best player on his team. That’s a little crazy

I really like VJ and he’ll be fine he’s a rookie. But I think his realistic expectations is really good complimentary piece on a contender not the top guy

That’s not a knock. There are maybe four or five players at a time at most who are good enough to be the best player on a title team
