IMO this says more about Mosely than it does Tyus Jones…

But I don’t think people really want to go there with that assessment.

BINGO I refuse to believe a serviceable backup PG with solid numbers just becomes unplayable.

Not according to a popular Suns blog.

"The Suns' point guard questions got so bad this offseason that some fans were rooting for a Russell Westbrook signing. The future Hall of Famer ended up on the Kings, but the desperation speaks volumes. Phoenix’s speed of moving on from Jones was questionable, but those inquiries were quickly answered.

Jones finished with zero points, three assists, two rebounds, one block, and two turnovers in 24 minutes of action in the Magic's opener. He missed all four of his field goal attempts, and Orlando was outscored by 17 points with him on the floor. His defense was a problem and left Magic fans shaking their heads. It was a nightmare debut for the veteran point guard.

The Suns had a negative-3.1 net rating when Jones was in the game last season, which was 0.7 points worse than when he was on the bench. The problem continued in his first game with the Magic. He is coming off the bench this season and may ultimately be removed from the rotation if he can’t get it together.

The Suns switched to a defensive identity after moving on from Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Jones certainly didn’t fit that mold and was frustrated after being benched midseason. It was best for both sides to move on, and it looks like the Suns will continue to look genius for making this bold move.

The Phoenix Suns are building around Devin Booker and quickly found out Tyus Jones didn’t fit last season. Things may still be rough in the Valley of the Sun, but at least their Jones problems are gone. They are searching for their point guard. Jones wasn’t the answer, and he isn’t in Orlando either. Credit goes to the Suns for quickly moving on and resetting."

Yeah I’m not sure how people forgot that Jones wasn’t exactly playing well in Phoenix. When do just give his minutes to Jase? If we’re going to be this bad with Jones then may as well play Richardson.

Also the decline has been a few years now. I mean he's not THIS bad but he's negative.

Adding Jase to an already young group isn’t something I’m excited about but Tyus has been terrible. You would think play him with Bane to maybe find something but Bane becomes exposed on D when Tyus is out there.

I feel like TDS is already sucking up minutes from JI.

Can’t wait to get Moe back.

You have to give Jase some run through. Any free agents we can add when our cap is prorated enough?

Penda and Jase need the minutes to develop. I know Tyus won't be here next season, but Isaac may not either.

He's so unplayable. I haven't been this frustrated by a back up PG on the Magic since Chris Duhon. It wouldn't be hard to cut him out of the rotation. Just let Suggs and Black consume those minutes or give Jase Richardson a shot. I'm usually on board with the idea that rookies don't help you win, but there's no way Richardson could be worse than Jones.

If he only struggled on defence it would be one thing, but he has been a complete zero on offense too. I was asking for him to be given more ballhandling duties if he is going to play but he seems content to play hot potato with the ball when he gets it and can't beat anyone off the dribble, he is 29 but he moves like a 35 year old.

He had a very bad weekend. He let Simons get going in the fourth on Friday with those back-to-back 3s. And that helped carry Simons into last night’s torch fest.

Opponents are constantly attacking him and we’re doing nothing to protect Tyus. Not even a zone.

He can’t find a rhythm when he’s handing the ball off at halfcourt or just going to the corner/elbow playing off ball entirely. He’s being treated wrong by our coaching philosophy as much as Bane has.
However, Tyus is not doing himself any favors missing wide open 3s, and looking overwhelmed when someone with size or any type of press pressure gets thrown at him. It’s bizarre. He’s 29 going on 39.
Jase isn’t ready either.
Tristan and AB should get the minutes.

The somewhat good news is Tyus will be gone in seven months at the latest if we can’t figure it out with him. But we don’t have the salary cap space to replace him, so you’re looking at growth from AB and Jase.

this is such a big thing, every guard we've had comes in and does the same thing with the same results and people are shocked.. The book is out on Mose and our offense right now, it doesn't help our bench is probably bottom 5 in the NBA in terms of playable talent. You've got Isaac/Jett/Goga who could be out of the NBA after this year. Tyus is being asked to play off ball with AB (shocking decision) and it's obvious he's not comfortable in an offense that got 0 structure.

Something is going to give come end of November
