things will fall into place with Ji, imo. I do believe this is a fit thing for Tyus and JI. I think once Moe gets healthy, Tyus and JI will get their minutes back.cedric76 wrote:Seems like Moses has made his mind on JI,Jett and Tyus
Things to keep in mind, there are 33 games left after the trade deadline so any team trading for JI, could give him 33 DNP and clear his contract (only 8 M GTD on the 44M he has left)
Let s see if we can find a nice back up SG at the trade deadline
Suggs, AB, Jase
Bane,
Franz, TDS, Penda
P5,Moe
WCJ, Goga

According to ESPN stats, we are No.1 in Free Throw Attempts per game, which is surprising, ha? That means improvement on our offense. Drawing fouls means we are getting aggresive to the hoop, however, we are one of the worst in TOs per game, also. Growing pains. haha

They were 0,3 FTA per game away from 1# last year as well.

Not really a surprise.
Paolo (who still isn’t getting enough free throw attempts that he deserves) and Franz have taken us from last and put us by themselves into the top 10 since Paolo’s rookie year.

Orlando Robinson is too good for the G-League. 25/13/6 in 29 minutes. He looked better than Goga in the preseason.

Mos is trying to play Tyus. Tyus has decided Tyus isn’t playing because of Tyus.

Bane: 12 3-pointers made so far (10 games)
KCP: 14 3-pointers made so far (11 games), he hit 13 3's in his first 10 games
Bane: 29% 3p%

Two of the Magic's three best outside shooters are Carter and da Silva. What gives????
(( the other is Suggs ))
Spoiler:
Bane 29%
Black 29%
Banchero 22%
Isaac 18%
Jones 13%
Pathetic.

Although it will never happen, I'm hopeful the Magic will just release Isaac to ensure he doesn't reach his guarantee threshold by playing 4 mpg all season.
I'm still shocked by the way this team has coddled, overpaid, and protected this guy for 9 years. No other team in the league would still be paying Jonathan Isaac $15 mil per in his 9th year of little to no productivity.
Most of this board has argued for years that bringing him back every season was a no-brainer, especially on such a "value" deal for a player with such upside. It's like people refuse to believe what they are seeing with their own eyes.
Isaac's mere presence is symbolic of the mismanagement of the Jeff Weltman era. JI was his first draft pick in 2017, and somehow they are both still here, neither doing anything to move this franchise closer to a championship. Wouldn't it be great to be as unproductive at your job as these two are while being handed generational wealth.

JI may not be the answer but he's not the problem either. Lets keep the focus on Mose.

$15M cap hit this season is kinda a problem unless all the sudden we experiment with JI at point guard like we did with him at center last season

He has been a significant problem this season so far.

Yes.. I thought last season was an anomaly because we tried to make him into a C. This season that anomaly is becoming the norm.

If I’m Mos and I know I have about one month to figure things out I go nuclear. I move Da Silva into the starting lineup next to Paolo and make Franz our Manu Ginobili sixth man. Test the theory that these two max guys are better when the other isn’t in the court. If it works you expose what the problem has been all along — duplicative skill sets, bad spacing and poor 3-point shooting. I would also add Jase to the second unit to give Franz a shooter to kick out to.
Why not try it?

Haven't seen this level of decision making since we benched Oladipo because he wasn't a good fit with Elfrid Payton.
