Glad to see him p!aying better, but I don't see him as a part of the future with this team. After we add 2 more 1st round picks this off season they will need to start trimming the fat and shaping the roster to start winning.

I see Sarr, Coulibaly, Kyshawn, Tre, Riley, and our 2 2026 1st rounders being the core foundation.

From there, I'd say team oriented complimentary role players like Champagnie, Kispert, Bagley, Watkins would be prioritized over Whitmore for playing time. Maybe even Branham. Plus the team will probably start adding more of these types of supporting players to fill specific needs via free agency.

Hopefully Cam will continue to put up points moving forward for his sake so he can continue in the league, and for the Wizards if they can recoup some value in a trade. I can also see the team moving on from AJ and Vukcevic for the same reasons.

He was a difference maker tonight. CJ had to ruin an awesome game from him.

That was legitimately the nastiest dunk I’ve ever seen by anyone in a Wizards uniform. That was freaking incredible! Also, it should have been an and one.

Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk. - The big diesel.

All is forgiven from me. I'm now a Cam fan. I've always wanted a Wizard to be able to dunk like that. Give the young man some time to mature.

Give him chemistry with a point guard. Give him touches. Feed him possessions and see if that also energizes his defense, focus, attention.

Cam is a scorer. My sense is when he’s valued for that the rest of his game improves. I want him taking some of CJs touches. Corey’s minutes. Not power forward duties but at scoring guard. There he’s a mismatch. At PF he’s struggling. At 2guard he knows what to do.

Nah, you have to keep giving Corey regular PT. He at least knows what to do on offense. He's obviously limited athletically, but his presence allows others a little bit more lane. Cam should be given all of Middleton's minutes (which will happen after the deadline when Middleton is bought out/traded). Cam at least shows NBA athleticism and skill.

The Glare over Cade was really dumb, but this team badly needs a physical player like Cam, and what he offers.

Have him be a microwave off the bench. Nothing wrong with having a sixth man who can help carry the offense while the starters rest.

I think the best case scenario is that he thought he made a clean block (he wasn't the only one as Keefe did challenge the play) and didn't notice Cade was injured on the play, and was just trying to do his own Dikembe celebration . Maybe it wasn't the correct call to use the challenge in the game but maybe it was for Keefe to try to get more buy in on the defensive end in the future.

The way I see it Cam has to play much more. We are tanking so nothing to lose. Play him at the 2-4 spots 30 minutes a night and live with the consequences. Why? He’s got upside unlike the Middletons, Kisperts and CJ’s of the world.

For the record, Cam is playing 16 mins/game vs 25, 19 and 29 for the 3 aforementioned vets…

What I noticed about it was Cam didn't say anything to him. That to me showed a level of maturity I wasn't sure he had.

Here's an uncomfortable fact: so far the Cam Whitmore experiment isn't going very well.

As a rookie, Cam played 880 minutes in 47 games (just under 19 minutes a game). His per-40-minute numbers weren't very good.

In his 2d year, Cam played 827 minutes in 51 games (just over 16 minutes a game). His per-40-minute numbers were a little worse than his rookie year.

This year, so far he's played 183 minutes in 11 games (just over 16.5 minutes a game). Once again, his per-40-minute numbers are a little bit worse than last year.

Cam's taking fewer shots this year, yet his 2-&-3pt %s are down from his first two years. His rebounds are also down, his assists are down too, & his turnovers are up. OTOH, his steals are up.

In short, Cam Whitmore began his career in disappointing fashion & has gotten consistently worse since then.
