Re: Kon Air: The Kon Knueppel Thread
Even I didn’t think he’d be this good this soon. If Brandon and Lamelo can get healthy we can do something. I honestly am not sure if the team wants them to get “healthy” soon though. I fully believe they want one more good pick. It’s unfortunate and i hope I’m wrong in believing that.

I genuinely feel like the only time we look like a professional team is when he touches the ball.

Re: Kon Air: The Kon Knueppel Thread
While we wait for Miller and Melo Never get healthy, the offense needs to run through kon.
i dont I mean that in the sense that he dribbles the ball up the court like Luka and initiates. But the ball needs to move through him as much as possible. Good things happen when he touches the ball in the half court. Even if it comes with increase in turnovers and growing pains. It will ultimately do wonders for his Continued growth. I think we are seeing pretty clearly that he's more than just a jump shooter. Slowly increase his roll and usage in the half court. And perhaps by this time next year he'll also learn how to throw his body sideways into Defenders for a parade to the free throw line.

Need to trade for more players with a criminal record so the team can be Kon & The Felons.
Which would be a good name for a rock band.

He's the anti-Kai Jones. Incredible feel for the game with limited length and athleticism.
Just goes to show knowing how to play is way more important than athleticism and measurables.

let's be honest they're both important. with the measurables it's more like hitting thresholds so you can be playable.

Hornet fans… having an argument with my friend.
Who are some of the best player comps for kon? He said Klay or bane and I still hate both but I’ve only watched highlights and not full games.
I named guys who can facilitate and drive better than Klay but are a little less speedy than bane. Know most of you guys have prolly watched full games.

My takeaway is the general basketball Community grossly underrates the value of strength and footwork when it comes to discussing people's athleticism and physical profiles.luciano-davidwesley wrote:He's the anti-Kai Jones. Incredible feel for the game with limited length and athleticism.

I thought his athletic testing, other than the agility drill was pretty solid at the combine. Off the top of my head he had a 31 or 32 inch standing vert and a 36.5 inch max vert. It was all blown completely out of proportion in my opinion.

Its all over the place. I've seen some say thompson and booker (which would be incredible), and some say a better brent barry and Cam Johnson.

I love that you have his combine scores memorized like a proud papa!

We might not win any games, but we are doing a good job of lifting Kon's value by featuring him like we are.
Dude has played 40, 38, 35 and 32 mins over the last 4 games.
It is basically him and Miles that can do anything offensively.
We should have seen him having this role, given our injury issues every year.

Thanks for the replies… so my comp was Bojan bogdonovic or Joe Ingles. Not statistically but stylistically.
I don’t like Klay cause I don’t look at Klay as a playmaker at all and I think Kon can
I don’t like bane either cause bane is pretty damn speedy and kon is more of a burrowing player. Can still penetrate and create but it’s more methodical and surgical.
I have only watched highlights and not full games but I like kons physicality and penetrating style compared to bojans. Very similar and all based on his shooting. Same with ingles. Ingles is more of a primary ball handler than Bojan is but statistically fills up the stat sheet everywhere the way kon does. Kon can have a better career than both but just in terms of style I like the fit.
Do you guys like my comp or think it’s trash like my friend who swore Kon = Klay (really dislike the comp lol).

I’ve compared him to Jo Ingles as well due to the slower smart drives. Kon is stronger though and uses his body more

I think I found the best player to compare him too. My new favorite player. Finley Bizjack. Dude plays so much like him
