Just a good ball player. Great instincts and iq.

Trade Ball for what you can get, finish high in the lottery this year then sign some veterans next year to begin competing

Almost twenty years later and the Hornets/Bobcats select a white guy who can play! They even got two in one draft! Of course, it happens once Jordan takes a step back. He would be proud!

In all seriousness, I wasn't that high on him at the 4th pick. Thought he would be a good role-player, but didn't think he'd be this good already. It's good to see him playing so well from the start.

If LaMelo and Brandon Miller can stay healthy, the Hornets could be a team on the rise. Not sure if that will ever happen with LaMelo, though.

The way the Hornets are built any decent scorer is going to look nice. Teams aren’t going to game plan to stop until the wins start accruing so I think it’s hard to say too much yet. His scoring ability was already evident but the question will be whether he has the tools to win in the clutch consistently. More likely he will be that 6th man on a real Championship team as ceiling.

He is looking much better than I thought he would so far.

He’s the only positive thing going on in that franchise at the moment

I'd say the entire rookie class has been a positive for them this year. Kon's the best one, but Sion James and Ryan Kalkbrenner have been pleasant surprises too. Looks like they got three solid pros.

Although its early in the season, he proved me wrong, i thought he wouldnt have the athletic ability to play defense. Hes pretty good, but his ceiling doesnt seem so high as the other top picks on this draft.

He is a more talented Brent Barry. People don’t realize how good he was. I would have loved to see Barry play in today’s NBA and he was just an Athlete mofo as well. I will say I have only seen one game fully with Knueppel but he has the skills to be better than Barry ever was.

19 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, on 6/11 shooting and 2/6 from three tonight. He's averaging 23.3/9/4.8 on 62.4% TS with a 40.1 Net-rating swing (+10.2 ON, -29.9 OFF) without LaMelo last 4 games. Guard Larry Bird! Summer League MVP. On pace to potentially win ROY. Charlotte needs to give him the keys and move on from the dummies like Bridges. He iced out Kon multiple times tonight.

Moral of a story: don't sign criminal who should have been in jail in first place.

Hornets are so damn confusing team to me. Basically no serious PF/C rotation at all, all in offense ,but still not all that good on offense, by default defense is laughable most of the times. Timeline? Does that even exist ?
Lamelo Ball saga. Are we finally reaching point where it's clear he can't play more than 30-40 games a year?

Why would you waste 6th pick on Salaun to give up on him in second year, while you still suck at everything? Like... he helps you tank, and could maybe develop. ( highly doubt it but still...)
Or simple question: why da f*** you drafted such bum in first place? Your GM set "draft French guy in 2024 autopilot, and Sarr and Risacher were both already gone?

Pretty much whole world expected Hornets to draft some of Buzelis, Edey, Ware, Clingan, Missy... and they draft guy who was viewed as mid first round upside talent to give up on development after one year? :nonono:

Such a confusing franchise.

He’s past what my projections had him as. Good for Charlotte.

Much more complete player than Flagg.
Once they have that golden shining moment and it comes to them in a dream or whatever and they understand that, that's when this team and this franchise will go to another level from where it was when I was here.

Looks like a star.

CHA should move off the knuckleheads like Ball and Bridges. Keep Miller around. Build around Kon and to a lesser extent Miller. Culture change overnight.

I loved Kon at Duke. One of my favorite OADs to come through Duke. But I wasn’t too high on his NBA potential. I thought most likely he would be a more consistent Luke Kennard.

I just didn’t think his game would translate well to the next level. I thought the chances of him being crafty enough to find a way to excel and be a star was too small.

But I think it’s pretty clear that isn’t an issue. Not saying he’s a lock to be a star now, but he definitely looks like a legit top 5 pick.

And the fact that he’s already not struggling to create separation for his shot or to facilitate is huge. He can end up being very very good because of just how efficient and smart he is out there

Hornets need a #1 guy. Kon is a nice complimentary player. That's it tho.

They need to tank this year and hopefully they find someone like Peterson and then trade Lamelo

a slightly better Kennard is about right tbh. it's all about usage in today's NBA. Whoever gets it puts up numbers due to how easy it is to score and fill a stat sheet. The lone season Kennard got the minutes 32mpg) Kon is getting on a similarly bad Pistons team which is easy for players to put numbers on like the Hornets are this year:

Kennard - 16/4/4 at 40% from three
Kon - 17/6/3/ at 40% from three

wonder how things change once Miller and Ball come back. Will Kon continue getting 33 mpg? Will his numbers decline as the ball is taken out of his hands? Will his defense keep him off the floor since Miller is so much better? That's basically what ended up happening to Kennard and he settled into his more appropriate 6th man role. I think Kon is the better prospect so he should remain a viable #4 or #5 starter on a good team or #3 on a bad one.
