I'm still surprised he didn't get a player option in his deal. He was playing at such an elite level post AS break and he isn't being paid as if he was going to come close to replicating that performance but now he actually has been. We go another 20 games or so and if he's still doing this, we probably can assume this is the player he is now going forward.

Post All-Star game + this season is still a small sample size, just 26 games in total.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Which is why I said give it another 20 games or so. If he's doing this for 50 games, I think that's pretty sufficient as a sample size that he's probably not going to totally fall off and it's probably not a fluke.

Regular season consistency is nice and all, but you're not really going to know what type of player Giddey is until the Playoffs.

If he maintains those numbers and the Bulls are a 50 win team, that's a top 10 MVP placing behind Wemby, Jokic, Giannis, Luka & Shai.
Now it's still early days but the sample goes back to the last 20 games of the 2024-25 season where the Bulls went 15-5 and Giddey put up those exact same numbers.

All his numbers other than scoring are sustainable, they aren't too different from his rookie per 100 numbers, just more time on ball being the difference.
The scoring is the only aspect that you have to question and need more sample size. He's not taking much more FGA than his sophomore season but the efficiency is far higher. So it's a question of how well he can maintain the efficiency.

If he stays close to this he is going to be severely underpaid during his contract, but hindsight is 20/20. He got the guaranteed $100 mil and will have a long nba career. He just turned 23 a month ago.

Giddey injured his ankle after falling on a
crossover dribble from De'Andre Hunter
during the third quarter of Saturday's loss
against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He returned

Sad to see his injury held him out. An interior defender like Wemby would be a good test for him.

Someone should update the title of this thread to: *Update, RIP to Giddey's Ankles".
