The Most Trusted Man in American Journalism: Nico Harrison deserved to be appluaded

Post#1 » by sp6r=underrated » Tue Nov 11, 2025 11:48 pm

“This is so dumb, so wrong, so ridiculously premature overreaction by this Dumont family that now owns and operates the Dallas Mavericks . . .Nico Harrison did not deserve to be fired. He deserved to be applauded for the team he has put together that hasn’t quite taken shape.”

I was on the fence about Nico but if Skip supports Nico I support him. Skip is the most trusted and respected man in journalism. The Colombia School of Journalism could build its curriculum around Skip's columns and video. Media companies and viewers understand I'm right about this because almost all sports programs follow his vision. The most trusted morning news show, First Take, is led by Skip's protege.

Given that this thread is only for those of us ready to give Nico the praise he deserves.

Thank You, Nico!

We already knew that Skip was clueless about basketball. After this, I'm starting to wonder if some serious cognitive decline is setting in.

Not sure if this is serious. I hope not. But if it is, you have the sports knowledge of Skip Bayless and I truly feel sorry for you. This HAS to be sarcasm, tho, right?

edit: I’ve seen your posts over the years and now I get it. But damn, its early for April Fools.

He figured non stop bashing Lebron doesn't pay bills anymore and found another controversial topic to seek attention.

He has a toddler mentality. Any attention is good attention. Say stupid things and people will post you on message boards. Even if they are being ironic, you're still being shared and that's all that matters.

Skip is one of the most respected men in the country. In a country full of shallow dolts who live in a world of self-delusion, he is a bold truth teller. He is presidential timber but he'll never get to the White House, sadly, because as Jesus said a prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.

I feel sad for Skip Bayless. He was only as relevant as he was because he had a major platform being on ESPN or FS1. Now nobody really cares what he has to say. His only option is to go into social issues and politics and take the contrarian POV but ironically enough he wont venture in those waters even though it's kind of worked for previous sports media people who used to be on the big TV/sports radio platforms.

Skip knows he can't survive off Lebron anymore. He needs to find other outlandish takes. Being against Luka is one avenue.

Skip is a master. He promotes his podcast then makes an outrageous statement that he knows will get clicks by defending Nico. This is a master of playing the media and marketing yourself.

Skip gonna Skip.
Even if one agrees with the decision to trade Luka (And I certainly think it's a defensible decision), the execution was so bad Nico had to go.

This is also a guy that has stuck with the Cowboys through everything, I think he just is the most biased fan in the world when it comes to Dallas based sports teams.

I did get a laugh out of him though when he would back his Cowboys publicly on his show, over the 49ers time and time again and then watch in horror as they got beaten over and over. I don't even watch Skip much but that was something I always tuned in for when both teams were considered quite good.
