Actually, crazy numbers for the Timberwolves. We got the 4th and 5th guy on the list. Where is the ball movement? By the way, Ja is 12th with the lowest PPP.

My takeaway is crazy high PPP for Randle at 1.42.

Re: The Julius Randle Thread
In 9-plus minutes combined over 3 games, Julius Randle is a +16 in clutch-time situations. Only player with a higher +/- in fewer clutch-time minutes is De'Aaron Fox. (Note: 2 of the clutch-time situations were without Anthony Edwards.)

Ju is playing better than a lot of those 54.

Thunder second option Jalen Williams averaged 21/5/5 last year.
Randle is averaging 25/7/6 right now.

Wasn’t he also all NBA defense?

Yes, but being a second option on a title team has nothing to do with defense.

Compare two players with similar offensive numbers, what is the difference? Simple answer is defense.

I believe so. He's a better player than Ju. I'd love to have him, but we're OK with Jaden.

I want to take this a step further. I would rather have Jaden given the cost difference. Jaden gives you a lot more production dollar for dollar. Edit to include, his rookie contract ends this year and then he starts making a rookie max. By average he is more expensive.

When does it become too expensive for OKC to keep the team together. I believe they're the smallest market in the NBA.

Depends on the development of the role players and the expansion of the cap. Probably 2 or 3 years.

On one hand, I think about how hard it is to salary match Randle and still get our money's worth because he is one of the best contract values in the league currently.
However, one possibility that could open up is to target someone on their rookie extension, which also would mean they fall in line with our team's current timeline. However, in practice I am struggling to find a good matchup with that concept....which goes back to my first point.

Re: The Julius Randle Thread
Julius is really great this year. Only point for me where he can be beet is how fast he release the ball. Sometimes, we have some players way open and he don't pass on times. Improve that and cut some stupid turnover and he is a top 20 player for me.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
