8 man rotation seems set, who do you want as the 9/10?

Post#1 » by Duffman100 » Wed Nov 12, 2025 2:02 pm

There's a pretty clear 8 man rotation which is forming. (despite Walter inexplicably being first off the bench the last few games).

8 Man Rotation
IQ
RJ
Ingram
Barnes
Poeltl

Shead
Mamu
CMB

Who would you like to see as the 9th and 10th men?

Personally if we're trying to win, I'd like to see Battle and Dick. But a rim running, shot blocking center as the 10/11 guy.

Right now have to be Battle and Dick. They are winning their minutes significantly.

i think battle is limited but helpful in small burst but Dick is a bit more dynamic on offense

Battle/Gradey and just ride with whoever has the hot hand. Walter looks like he could use some 905 time right now.

No set rotation. Continue on as Darko has been doing by providing opportunities for all of Dick, JKW, Agbaji, and Battle. Specifically, I’d prioritize Dick and JKW but use Agbaji and Battle to hold them accountable which imo is what Darko has been doing. Make everyone earn their mins every day. The difference with Shead, Mamu, and CMB is those guys are already doing that.

Listen Duff, I know because of what you think of Gradey, you think he should be in this conversation, but he just isn't. Gradey is in the Shead/Mamu/CMB tier of "the first 4 bench guys Darko subs in, and the 4 guys who play on the Ingram+bench unit." They are also the only 4 bench players with 0 DNP-CDs. Org messaging also still suggests they are very high on his future internally.

I've been both high and low on Dick, I don't have anything against him.

To be fair, he's slashing 40/35/80 while being our elite shooter and his defense is subpar. It's not like I have any vendetta against him, he's just sort of meh.

edit: to be clear, I also voted for Dick.

Darko's also been running 11-deep rotation nights way more than 10 so far this season. Gradey is pretty solidly the #9 guy and the question should be more so "Who do you want as the 10/11?"

I still like Agabji / Battle as it gives a nice combo of defence and shooting.

It's gonna be Dick though for sure, and I would say Battle will eventually lock that spot down to.

That being said, Dick has been a + in every game this year except 1 in terms of +/-, and the only - game was a -2 in the Dallas loss. Kind of strange.

Voted for Dick, he is more versatile offensively. I think his ability to attack the basket is somewhat underrated. Battle is really close as he can be deadly right off the bench.

Walter needs to work on his offensive game. He doesn’t look comfortable out there this year.

I think Darko misused Ochai, often seeing Ochoa guarding the PF like Giannis. Ochai is strong but he gives up too much length in this kind of match up.

Mogbo, again he needs to work hard on the offensive end. Otherwise he is peaked.

There is only one correct answer: Battle.

For current as-is roster, Dick/Battle.

Park Walter in G league to remove confusion and just focus on Dick as the guy to develop. Playing Walter at this point just muddies the water and fails to develop either of them. If they are serious about at least one of them developing. Battle is the guy though that actually provides most stable shooting. And Agbaji seems lost unfortunately at this point. He's FA, wouldn't mind if we just let him go at the end. His position is way too crowded anyway.

But ideally, we need to go after another big. Time to get one has been long past.

Yeah I would say that clear 8 man rotation is Quick, RJ, Barnes, Ingram, Poeltl, CMB, Shead and Mamu...I think based on the first 10 games Battle and Dick should get the 9 and 10 spots.

Yeah. They have earned it so far this year.

I really like Walter as a prospect though. I like his defense, ball handling & aggressive mindset. I still think he could be a useful player down the road.

Not sure what happened to his shooting, but I agree......he needs reps and he is not going to get those on the big club. I would love to send him down to play some PG minutes.

Dick is kind of like Mamu as a player. He can shoot & is kind of athletic & can get to the rim a little. The reason that Mamu is ahead of him is height. We need bigs. Unfortunately we have a glut of guards/ wings.

Shead and CMB are legit 2-way players & both fill a position of need right now. That's what makes them ahead of Gradey as well.

I see Gradey after those guys in the depth chart. He is kinda of in there with Battle. Battle is the better C&S 3 point shooter. Gradey is a better overall scorer. Battle is probably a better rebounder. Neither are good defenders.

Battle needs to play more so we can see what we have in him. He has out played all of these guys but in limited minutes.

Dick is clearly in the rotation imo.

I'm fine splitting the 10th rotation spot minutes b/w Battle and Walter. The Ochai fall-off needs to be studied - guy looks like a rotation in piece in odd years and g-league player in even years for some reason.

Dick at least keeps opposing team defenses honest, sadly ours too.

Jakobe looks lost at times on the court and needs some 905 time

But yes, should be Battle and Dick
