Another yes-man who can take the fall in a few years when the Mavs are still a dumpster fire.

If I were them, I would hire a guy sensible enough to ask about his overall budget, smart enough to say, I need help to rebuild this entire organization from the ground up.
Probably go after the top assistant of Sam Presti, the lead scouts of the Lakers--same guys who found Reaves, Caruso and Christie etc and the top trainers from Miami...who worked with Herro, Duncan Robinson and Jacquez etc.
So...you'd demand the Yankee's and Dodger's combined budget for back office guys? Good luck?
For a Lead Assistant GM and 1 lead scout and 1 lead trainer? You need a Dodger's AND Yankee's combined budget? How much are these guys getting?
I mean if you want to get someone to leave a good job to go work for the Mavs. I'm asking for at least a 500% bump.

500% bump, are you serious? Well anyway per AI top paid senior trainer is about 134 K and top paid senior scout is 100 K....

AI's pretty off there. I'm pretty sure that Lakers "Head Athletic Trainer" was online advertised not too long ago as being about 250k and who knows what he actually signed for. Or what bonus's and other pay come with it on top of the base salary. I suspect you'll see similar with scouts, again the head of scouting which is what I assume you're looking for will be 200k plus. And again that's ignore profit sharing, bonuses, and whatever else they get.
But I think the bigger point is you're missing how toxic it would be to go work for the Mav's after this and the prior messes. Yes, I'd want a significant increase in pay to take on a job that's massively lacking in stability or any chance I could trust leadership.

Theo Epstein. Joking but kind of serious because Theo strikes me as someone who would be up for the challenge. Plus you can't tell me that a fanbase(no matter what the sport) wouldn't get excited if they found out Theo Epstein was running your operations. I mean at least I don't think they would completely dismiss it

AI is probably way off too when it said Dave Roberts and Cashman's combined salary is 11 Mil and you said I will need to combine both Yankee and Dodger' office budget or say 16-20 Million maybe? That's how much you need?
AI is probably off too when it said Presti is only getting 4.5 mil plus incentives. Probably it got it from

And again, I also said whoever the future GM would need to build the organization from the ground up...as in try to remove that toxic environment.

He's the GM, not the CEO or President who'd both be likely more involved in why the franchise is dysfunctional.
Meanwhile you want them to steal assistant GM's from other teams right? But to bring them in as assistant GM's still? We're talking some major cash there man. For starters you want to steal OKC's assistant GM? What do you think those NBA title bonuses are?

Re: Nico's Replacement
Whoever it is needs to have no attachment to trading Kyrie or Davis. They have to be traded if this team has any chance of not being perennial injured bottom dwellers. I wouldn't even mind getting their contracts off the books for pennies on the dollars. Trade them even if they are injured. You got astronomically lucky getting Flagg so look at it that way. The shock will level out with time. The whole culture just needs a huge fast reset. You aren't competing for a while even if the ideal trade is out there. There are a ton of dudes sitting on NBA benches out there waiting for the right opportunity that are under the radar.
Its obvious that this team is in rebuilding stage now. I don't even think you keep PJ or Gafford as they were really there to surround Lukas play style. Lively is probably the only guy you keep outside Flagg and Christie.
Dallas might end up with Ja Morant cheap somehow so there is still hope to turn it around. Not saying he is ideal but would be exciting to watch with Flagg in the meantime if his attitude changes with a team change.
Michael Finley seems to be the guy everyone is pushing for so he needs to take a page out of Don Nelsons book and trade everyone basically lol

Re: Nico's Replacement
If they aren't chasing or interviewing Masai Ujiri, they are worse than I could have imagined. I'm not sure he is ready to come back since he just got a gig and is getting paid extremely well by the Raptors, but they should at least be talking.
What seems obvious is they don't even have anyone to lead the hiring process. They should probably be turning to Cuban soon for advice.
