Jeremy Gohier & the Canadian Giants

Post#1 » by Orange Balls » Thu Nov 13, 2025 5:22 pm

If you haven't heard the name Jeremy Gohier you eventually will. He is a (just turned) 15 year old (grade 8) that is 7'6" and is actually coordinated and talented. He is still growing at a steady pace and could easily reach 8 feet tall. That would give him about a foot to 14" more reach than anyone in the league. He could get so tall that he forces the league to change major rules. He does not have gigantism...he is just massive. Not even skinny...just enormous! He has a nice smooth step back jumper.

Now imagine team Canada in 6 years with Jeremy at C 8ft, Olivier Rioux at PF 7'9" Zach Edey at SF 7'4" add in RJ Barrett and SGA. Try coming inside on that team.

Sounds like an incredibly slow team that would get run off the floor by team USA

Olivier Rioux is not good at basketball. Guy is too tall to have any sort of mobility. I feel bad for him it must be brutal being that huge.

8' I don't think you really understand 8'. This would not be a basketball game like anyone has ever seen before. How are you going to stop a passer at 7'9 from alley-ooping to an 8' Center? You can't.

I had to stop typing for a second because I was laughing so hard at that exact thought.

Probably has a better chance of being a pro wrestler or a genre actor than an NBA basketball player if he's going to be over 8 feet tall.

Remind me, how well did Tacko Fall do in the NBA? Yeah, didn't think so.

France tried this with Victor and Gobert and it didn't work. You think some slow lumbering Cs like Edey and Rioux (admittedly don't know anything about Gohier) are going to play out of position and keep up with the might of Team USA when actual skilled DPOY level 7+ foot Cs couldn't? There is more to basketball that being tall. They would get ran out of the gym by the end of the 1st quarter

Do you think 7'6" is the same as 8'?

Here he is a year ago at 7'3...he was last measured at 7'6". The black kid beside him is the next highest rated kid his age.
