Looks like Mavs will work with AD to help him find a new team.

What a catastrophe of a trade...
At least they stopped digging, but it may take a lot of time to recover....

I dont think he has much value, if any
Can't dribble, drive, or pass
Useless as a shooter unless he has a Steph/Dray or Luka with him
Lost his defensive prowress
Seems to be a selfish prick from what Ive seen

Why in the world do they need to appease him? Trade him to whichever team gives the best deal

What AD brings back in a trade will be the ultimate outcome of the Doncic trade. They better not screw that one up...
And apparently suddenly Cuban is back at the table, Dumont trusts him again, which might not be as good of a sign as someone would think. But i guess it's better than nothing. There is talk Dirk could follow and maybe start a campaign to bring back Luka in 3 years. He would be 29yo by then and Coop would be 22yo. Potentially another incredible duo.

Dirk would be a fresh breath to the front office, certainly from a fan perspective. The knock against him when he was a player, though, is that he didn't/couldn't get big named FAs to come to Dallas. I listen to a ton of former player podcasts like Gil's. Dirk is mentioned often as someone players respect. I'm just bringing that up to be objective.
I wish, but I don't see LAL ever not extending Luka before he ever even hits RFA. Other than Shaq (and that was to appease Kobe), LAL takes care of their stars. Maybe this is different with their new ownership...

I don't know. There's no way DAL will get near equal value to Luka, not close. The Luka trade will always be the worst trade of all time, regardless. At this point, it's sunk cost, in the past, and you try to get as much value for AD as possible regardless. The only one married to the trade and would have done anything to make it work is Nico. Rightly or wrongly, he will forever be the fall guy, and will take all the blame.

Hmm... Well, he's loyal to a fault and i think he still considers Dallas his 2nd home. I'm not sure if he even sold his house yet and he does have a player option which he can decline, so contract wise, it's absolutely no problem.
It's going to probably come down which team can construct a better roster. He could just extend like you said 5y/Max but i'm not sure he'll do that if Mavs make drastic changes and make a complete shift in their organization. Once Dirk gets involved and starts lobbying, it will be hard for him to say no.
Problem right now is Kidd who is going after the fans, this idiot has absolutely no self awareness, even Coop is being more mature and is saying the right things and he's only 18yo lol... I think Mavs would need to change their coach as well is what i am trying to say.

Yeah it's going to be tough. Apparently they'll take 2 month window and see what they can get in return or if he just stays. That's a lot of risk. He could get injured again and tank his value even lower or starts playing well enough for Mavs to tank their own chances for a high draft pick. I think Mavs with AD are in "lose-lose" situation regardless.

I believe we can be grateful at the end of the day if we can just get rid of him at all.
This dude has a player option in his contract. Like how desperate would you need to be...

Here are some other suggested trades from a Mavs fan site. Not sure if any of these are realistic. Also I would assume that these trades are after AD has gotten back on the court and at least showed that he’s healthy (raising his stock some).

You guys are going to get screwed again when trading AD. His salary and always injured will be a tough sell. You might as well trade Kyrie and Klay too. At least Cuban is back.

I think every Mavs fan is pretty aware that trading by AD is going to be difficult because of his salary. From what everyone is saying it doesn’t seem like they are going to trade AD right away. They need to get him back on the court and show that he’s healthy. There are a couple of teams that could be intrigued enough to trade for him. No one is expecting a huge haul though for AD. If they can get 1 FRP back and a decent young player I’d be happy. I’d be ecstatic if they can get 2 FRP’s and a young player.
As for Kyrie, I’m not sure they want to get rid of him. He’s become a fan favorite and the Mavs still need a PG. they could tank this season, get a high draft pick, and then bring Kyrie back next season when he’s 100% healthy.
No one knows why Klay is still here.

For the ATL one, if we can somehow have one of those FRPs become the 26 MIL/NOP swap, then I take that one and run. Their GM seems to be pretty bright so far though so I'm doubtful that one is possible.

Eek. Gawd Nico effed up this roster. I hope the bag (albeit wet paper bag) for AD beings back more than those. I know beggars can't be choosers, though.
ATL: I hated trading KP away for Bertans/Din. But with KP's extensive injury history, you're basically getting AD on a smaller contract. Kennard is efficient af. 2 FRPs? Yes, please. This is my favorite.
DET: Ivey has been out with two injuries since Jan. Levert and Tobias are just OK. 2 FRPs? Yes, please.
MEM: I'm not sure how much KCP has much left in the tank. Clarke has been limited since his Achilles rupture in March '23. 3 FRPs? I doubt they do that. If they do, uh yes please.
MIA: I'm not sure if Rozier can be traded? Obviously it'd be just a salary dump. Herro I don't like, but he can score. A move like that means Kyrie would be jettisoned too.
MIN: I love Randle and Donte both. Obviously we'd rather a package that brings back FRP(s).

The Chicago rumor seems to be picking up steam. Other players that AD is friends with are now saying he wants to go to Chicago.

I think it will be the Bulls in the end. Something like:
DAL receives: Essengue + Huerter + Z. Collins + J. Isaac + 26 ORL FRP + 26 CHI FRP + 28 CHI FRP
CHI receives: AD + Bitadze
ORL receives: Vucevic
DAL gets a decent prospect in Essengue, expirings (Isaac can be cut) and 3 FRPs. Yes I know it ain't great but I can see this one happening to appease AD and the Klutch team for future goodwill.
CHI puts together a very competitive East roster with a SL of Giddey/C-White/Okoro/Buzelis/AD after this.
ORL gets a familiar fan favorite and someone that fits very well with their roster to make a run in the East. Also gets them below the tax.

I think the Bulls would include Coby White considering they will likely lose him in the off season. Also he hasn’t been a big part of their success this season.

We'll see, would certainly be nice to nab him. If I'm CHI though, I'm not parting with both Vuc AND White. Vuc is just easier to trade for matching purposes and since he's playing AD's position anyway. The team is already trading Huerter in the trade proposal too, they can't afford to give up another good shooter.
