Garrett Wilson Placed On Injured With Right Knee Injury

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Nov 14, 2025 3:12 am

The New York Jets placed star wide receiver Garrett Wilson on injured reserve Thursday, sidelining him for at least four games. Wilson injured his right knee Sunday, the same knee that caused him to miss two games earlier this season.

Wilson leads the Jets in receptions (36), receiving yards (395) and receiving touchdowns (four). The 2-7 Jets face the 8-2 New England Patriots on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium.

The decision comes two days after coach Aaron Glenn sparred with reporters over Wilson\'s injury status. Glenn refused to divulge injury information during his Monday news conference, sarcastically deferring questions to an ESPN reporter who had cited a source about Wilson\'s timeline.

\"You guys have been hearing it from me, but now since we\'re just reporting stuff that I haven\'t said then maybe you should ask him,\" Glenn said.

The Jets will be without both starting wide receivers, as Josh Reynolds remains on injured reserve with a hip injury. Wilson is eligible to return in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, though the team could shut him down for the season.

The absence of Wilson could impact quarterback Justin Fields, who may be playing for his job against the New England Patriots. Fields has been held under 100 passing yards in four games this season, a league high, including three of his past four starts.

Tyrod Taylor is healthy after a recent knee injury and could replace Fields. Glenn declined to name his starting quarterback for Thursday night.

\"I mean, it\'s tough, but it is what it is,\" Fields said. \"It\'s definitely tough when one of your best guys on offense is out.\"

Adonai Mitchell, acquired in the Sauce Gardner trade, could make his Jets debut. The team also has rookie Arian Smith and John Metchie III available after recent roster moves.
