Maybe I’m wrong in not wanting to free Lauri from Utah. He is still assisted on 85% of his baskets which is insanely high and we’re not exactly loaded with playmaking. 28 year old 7 footer who’s an elite shooter/scorer. In the 1st year of a 4/$196M contract

He's killing it on a chit team, might be fools gold again

Yep, you never know

So this early season it looks to me like the following players time is ticking with their current team:

AD/Kyrie
Ja
Trae
Lauri
Lavine/Derozan/Sabonis

Pretty obvious Heat need another big behind Bam and Ware. You can't have matchups like Wiggins guarding Jarrett Allen and giving up 4-5 inches and 40 plus lbs.

He' averaged at least 12 Reb per game every year since 2019 and over the last 2 years was close to averaging 14 per game.

Terrible fit for Miami's new screenless style. Sabonis main strength is operating in DHOs and making quick reads/decisions. To be fair, there aren't many winning teams that could be a good fit for Sabonis. You'd really need to have an elite rim protector PF who can also knock down threes for it to work. My guess those 'interested teams' are actually bad or average teams that hope Sabonis could improve them to become an above average team.

Yeah Ware legit has the potential to be exactly what we need anyways, I hope he wants it bad enough to reach it and Spo turns him loose and lets him play through mistakes enough to get there quicker. I'd like to see us find another backup big that can help on the boards still however.

Kyrie would be a heck of an addition at the right price.

Really good player who would definitely help Miami's rebounding problem. Not sure he fits in Miami, though.

Tim Legler for whatever reason has recently become a Heat hater, unfortunate.

A really odd take. Jaime is clearly better than even rookie year Jaime right now.

If you’ve improved, you’re eligible. He should be a candidate, as well as a 6MOY candidate, if he can sustain this high level of play.

Miami does not have a clear problem in any position
The roster is full of good players.
So, they should wait for a real good deal in order to improve the roster.

The only player who does not play very well until now is Jovic and personally I will wait to see if Herro(very good scorer bad defender) elevates the team or breaks the chemistry of current roster.

With the way our players leak out to convert misses into quick points and fast breaks, I think we will always allow a decent amount of offensive rebounds, and be bad at that. But since bam has been out its been especially bad. We need him back desperately.

Someone else asked about Bam. He had a left big toe sprain or turf toe. He shed his walking boot about 3 days ago and is doing light workouts. Expected recovery from level 1 sprained toes is 1-3 weeks. Idk if it was level 1. Recovery can be 3-6 weeks for more severe. Its been... 7-10 days? I wouldn't expect him back for another week or two. The fact that he shed the boot and is doing light training in sneakers is big. Get it? Big toe. Ok gn. Go heat.

Good thing we extended him before he ever showed any signs of consistency

I love to tell people on this board i told you so.. because i did.. i said dont extend herro, dont extend jovic, give davion his QO… like a broken record i mustve posted that 20 times

Who were we bidding against to offer him 64 million.. seriously… thats the caleb martin mistake that we got saved because calebs agent who overvalued his worth in the free market.. he ended up getting 35 million in philly, we offered 30 million more..

Max strus got 4 year 63 million from the cavs, he was far more productive for us than Jovic has ever been..

But we offered Jovic that kind of cash, based off potential.. complete no show at the end of the season.. he lifted some weights in the offseason and convinced the Heat he is that guy.

We have very poor money managers of our salary cap.. that was DUMB. And it closed off an opportunity potential of two max slots by caving into a guy who wont be nothing more than a rotational player in this league

3 points today..

Anything that happens right now doesn't matter were all victim to Spo's early season IDGAF chaos. Once everyone is healthy (thots and prayers) and playing their roles I'll take my 17/5/5 from young sir. It's all mental, the boys are gonna get him there with vibes and feels. Consistency is next.

Jovic is a LONG way from averaging 17/5/5 lmao. We should tamper our expectations. If he can average 12ppg on close to 40% from three, we'll be good.

Jovic's per36 is 15.3/7.5/4.9 right now, not that anyone on our team plays 36 mins, but he is essentially not far off that guy if committed to as a starter now.

I don't know Miami would be able to win many games with Jovic playing 36 minutes. The feeling I've had and continue to have is that his game is better suited for European basketball and he is more likely to end up like Bjelica (several years at ~ 15-8-4 /36) or Saric (17-8-3 career/36) than other Euros who adapted to the NBA game much better.

It's a similar case with Ware, who just doesn't seem to impact games in any meaningful way. He's just really clunky and has a slow reaction time. His skillset is good for a big man, but I don't know that it ever comes together for him.

For me, the common theme here is that neither guy really impacts the game much regardless of their statistical output.
