If someone started a thread calling Jordan “his airness” i would laugh at it just the same personally. Their athletes people.

I think you see it as people calling these athletes deities because they are called "king James" or "his airness".

Where as others (probably the ones calling them that) see these names as nicknames that are based on the fact that they are great at basketball.

They are marvelous athletes who achieved or met the pinnacle of their profession but at the end of the day they are athletes making millions and millions of dollars. Jordan and James are both worth a billions dollars. They dont need glazing from us lol.

I don't think you should just compliment people because you think they need it. I think you compliment people because they achieve something you value.

I also think saying people are "glazing" is pretty juvenile and anti-social. The idea that positively lifting up others is a negative. It reminds me of tall poppy syndrome, the idea that lifting those that achieve is bad, rather we should all chop people down or not appreciate the pinnacle of any discipline.

I love watching sports, in fact on Sunday i will watch numerous NFL games over the span of several hours. Its awesome entertainment. I try to pick up the Mavs games during the week. But i think them making millions of dollars is sufficient for them, they own multiple cars, homes, and take vacations we can only dream of. They get their flowers brother. And i think referring to someone as his highness or his airness is pretty juvenile, but funny lol. The last time i remember someone calling someone your highness was from the movie Coming to America with Eddie Murphy. But if you think calliing James his highness is appropriate knock yourself out!

In person and to their face? Yes, that would be glazing and weird.

On an online forum where we know they aren't reading? Seems more like people just having fun, though I don't know how serious people are, but I don't think it's that serious.
