His steals per minute/possession rate is bananas. There is a VERY interested party. He's just tough to trade because he's tied to Covington for me.

no doubt he gets steals. But he just isn't the impact individual defender he use to be at least to be in the defensive player of the year convo. He also doesn't play in enough games for the SIM to respect him on that level.

AD probably is the most underrated especially in the SIM to make a run at Wemby for defensive player of the year, he's always up there.

I didn't vote for him but he's been a pretty awesome piece for me and his steals bumped last season and early this one.

I get it, the East is loaded. Pistons, Hornets, Raptors, Cavs .. but the Bulls will be right in the mix again. Don’t sleep on us.

I think it was a good gamble for Hoffa. He needed a truly elite player to play with the other big boys in the league and he's got Edwards for like 140 and that combo is the best backcourt in the league. Then he's got some other cheap pieces and likely one more move to have a roster that will compete for at least two years before he loses Edwards.

He had to pick a price point that I wouldn't match and he did. I certainly would have gone to $550 or maybe a little higher but beyond that I was not in the position that he was to put a good roster around him at such a high value.

The question/surprise was whether Hoffa would actually splurge for realsies and he did.

Antman and Shai BOTH need the ball...
Wouldn't work in real life and the sim won't like it either...Unless, the sim changes the way it operates. Shai will never win a chip on that team or any team where he makes 60% of the cap.. Add in Mitch at $172/2 ouch Cap...
But who knows Cap -maybe I'm wrong...

Both players can play off ball too and do often times for their team. I honestly think it's great synergy even if it does play into "my turn, your turn" ball.

Not eye popping depth but it’s Underrated. you have guys like KCP, Moody, Aj Green, Bruce brown, Nance. All type of guys who can play off the bigger names without getting in the way.

Pretty much agree with all the other votes

Agree. She'll be good again. The question is whether that core breaks into the top of the East, which is VERY contentious.

I had the Mavs who I think could be as high as 2 out west but it really depends on how they view Randle and Murphy III.

Size might be an issue for bulls especially if Ayton goes down or fouls out but other than that I got her top 5 in East.

Top 3 most likely pistons, hornets and raptors

5. Which team made the best overall moves this offseason?

Spoiler:
Detroit Pistons (3 votes) Indiana Pacers (2 votes) Chicago Bulls/Cleveland Cavaliers/Houston Rockets/Miami Heat/Philadelphia 76ers (1 vote)

Toronto had little-to-no cap space left after locking up Wemby and Amen long-term. But still managed to make these sneaky acquisitions that fit the team build:

• Draymond Green
• Marcus Smart
• Andre Drummond (don’t sleep! depth move!)
• Shaedon Sharpe
• Andrew Nembhard
• Cason Wallace

Added defense, OFF/DEF rebounding, youth & bench scoring.

All while keeping the core intact and with the ability to return the same team next season for an encore, if I choose to run it back for 2026-2027.

Spoiler:
I was however, pleasantly surprised 3 GM peers recognized the young core that’s in place while simultaneously being able to be a legit championship contender, right now.

— “The most promising young core?” question.

…lastly, who’s the GM that voted San Antonio as the team with the level of success that’s most difficult to predict? Talk about a tough crowd. 4 straight LOB’s and still not impressed.

Spoiler:
mpharris probably submitted the vote in an attempt to motivate himself!

My mom once told me "you can't make everyone happy" (I didn't even see that vote though...show yourself!)

I was the vote for Draymond as the most underrated offseason move. Using the exempt list (basically free money) to get a guy that will basically be a lock for +90 DEF rating and has the other qualities that are conducive to winning was an easy vote for me.

We could only vote for one best offseason and I just had to give it to Hornets for nabbing the MVP in free agency. We haven't typically seen that level of player leave in FA especially in BAF. The 5th year birds rights...being able to go over 10% of the cap really makes it difficult to steal that high level of a player from the incumbent team.

You would have certainly been up there if we had like a tier or ranking list. Also Minny just has so much quantity along with quality of youth I just had to give it to them right now. But again not many combos I would rather have for the future than Wemby/Amen...great building blocks locked up.

He certainly is an elite steals guy. Just was thinking if you aren't going Wemby its gotta be AD or if you were going guard Dyson/Amen/Caruso all rank as likely better defensive players.

It was the question that was one of the toughest for me. I narrowed it down to a few eastern conference teams because I think that league has so much quality teams now that someone is going to underperform there talent level.

I also never have figured out the randomness of injuries. I typically think (just have CP3) that old players have a lower endurance rating. Not sure how that impacts recovery or injury if that is just impacts the game and quality of minutes depending on how much they play. So I see older players like LeBron and Kawhi and not sure if Ayton will still be as good but no doubt if health is there the trio of Lebron/Kawhi/Garland will be a tough out in the playoffs. If HS is a 4/5 seed not an ideal matchup to the top seeds in round 2.

Another team I was considering was Brooklyn. Is this the first year where embiid finally takes a SIM hit? If so they might be difficult to predict even though KD is a monster year and year out but they also lost Brunson and didn't really find a suitable replacement.

I also might have considered your team as well. I think you have one of the best offenses but the defense probably is a bit suspect. if Jabari lands a good defensive rating then that mitigates that a bit.

NY and Philly weren't even competitive teams last year and I think they improved significantly..so that is two non playoff teams that will make a run for the playoffs IMO as well. East is just tough so I had to pick that question from that conference.
